I have been trying to get a place on a midwifery course for the last 3 years now, and although I worked hard at school and got good grades, I took an entirely different career path to start with so I had no science or social science qualifications.
I found out about DistanceLearningCentre.com on a student midwife forum, asked a few of the girls about it, and then emailed for more information. The Access to Midwifery was affordable, and seemed 'doable' and as I needed it, I went for it!
It hasn't been easy, and there are many times when I've wanted to throw my computer at the wall, but my tutors were incredibly supportive ? no question was too daft for them to answer, and there was always a friendly voice at the end of the phone whenever needed, and someone ready to respond to endless emails of "I'm never gonna do this!".
I have to be honest, I lost faith half way through my course and let the work slide, and it wasn't until I got my conditional offer of a place to study midwifery that I suddenly sat up and realised I needed to get my rear end in motion! You definitely need to have motivation and support to do this course, but I've found it to be interesting and challenging, and currently I have the grades to fulfil the conditions of my offer, so will be starting down my dream career path this September!

I would like to grab this opportunity to thank DistanceLearningCentre.com for giving me the chance to work towards my dream and encourage you to believe in and go for your dreams. I decided two years ago that I would like to go to University to study the BA Applied Nursing and Social Work Joint Degree as I simply fell in love with the idea of combining these two professions.
As I was working full time for the local hospital and doing lots of overtime, I was desperate to find a distance learning access course which DistanceLearningCentre.com could then offer. At the beginning I found the course a bit difficult and stressful as you are quite alone with your studying, and also because English is not my first language; but I received all the guidance I needed and then started really enjoying it, although, I have to say it was hard work and sometimes very tiring.
Finally, with determined work and support from my tutors, I finished the course with merits and distinctions which secured my place at Sheffield Hallam University. I am very excited now and looking forward to my studying from September. All I would like to tell you is that if you have ever planned to study at a University, you really should go for it. It is never too late and DistanceLearningCentre.com is the best place to start. I really do believe that if you want the place and ready to work hard for it, you will get it. And it is worth it. Every minute I spent with DistanceLearningCentre.com and studying was worth it.

Studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com has challenged and enabled me to enhance my academic abilities to reach my potential. From the very start to the very end the pressure to perform brought out the very best in me. The professionalism and experience of the tutors was of immense value always there with a word of encouragement or delicately pointing into the right direction when needed. I am proud of my achievement and what is more I am proud to of attending DistanceLearningCentre.com.
This college has enabled me to continue to work and study at the same time; something which would be impossible in a conventional setting. As a veteran of the Royal Air Force I was able use my enhanced learning credits to help fund this course and would encourage any former service members to do the same.
The future is very bright, after careful consideration of my offers I have confirmed a place at Anglia Ruskin University studding a BA Honours in Social Work and Social Policy. Post Graduation I plan to undertake employment as a Social Worker; hopefully working with former service men and woman who are finding it hard to adjust to life outside the armed forces. From the heart, a big thank you to all at DistanceLearningCentre.com who have helped me to believe in myself and reach the second step on the ladder to personal success.

I left college after only completing AS levels, not knowing what I really wanted to do for a career, and I ended up working in administration for a number of years. After some research and reflection, I decided that I wanted to study nursing at university. However, I could not enrol at the local college to do the Access course because it required me to give up my full-time job, which I was hesitant to do.
I thought that was the end of my aspirations, until an internet search brought me to DistanceLearningCentre.com. I was so happy to find that I could fit studying around my job, and that I could pay in monthly instalments. I enrolled straight away. I really enjoyed the course and I learned a great deal, including how to study independently which will be very useful at university.
My tutor's help has been invaluable, although I had to have a lot of self-motivation too! It was difficult to work and study at the same time, but I managed to complete the course in under a year and achieved many distinctions. I have accepted an offer to study Adult Nursing at the University of Hertfordshire in September - something that would not have been possible without the opportunity given to me by DistanceLearningCentre.com. I am so proud of what I have achieved, and am very grateful to my tutor and everyone else at DistanceLearningCentre.com who have my everlasting thanks!

I have just finished my access to nursing course with DistanceLearningCentre.com. I chose DistanceLearningCentre.com as I wanted to go onto University but didn't have any A levels; I also wanted to study from home. I now have a conditional offer to study the career I want to do - ODP in September which I can't wait to start!
There were points when I thought why am I doing all this, but it is such a good feeling at the end of each module ? knowing you've completed it. It is an even better feeling when all the work and exam has been done ? knowing that you've managed to complete the course, it is a great achievement! It is all worth it in the end knowing you are a step closer to your chosen career! The tutors and all the staff at DistanceLearningCentre.com are very supportive and helpful and are always available when you need to speak to someone about your course. Thank you DistanceLearningCentre.com for all your help!
