I found DistanceLearningCentre.com whilst looking for an Access Course, after failing one with a different online access provider. I was told there that I can't make it into University unless I did a Level 2 course.

It was really important for me to do an online course as I was a mature student with a child. I decided to apply for an Access Diploma in Social Science with DistanceLearningCentre.com and it was indeed the best decision. (Jul 2020)

My decision to study long distance was quite reluctant initially. My dream was to become a midwife, however I didn't have any relevant qualifications, as well as having 5 children to look after.

After some long thought and the support from my husband I decided to go for it! I have thoroughly enjoyed the course and my tutors were so supportive, no question was silly and I never felt like I was bothering them. They really want you to succeed! I have never been prouder of myself; I started this course and I kept going and completed it!

For someone like me in my late 30's, to be able to do this and pursue a dream that I never had the opportunity to pursue in my younger age, just shows anyone can do this. It's never too late to start anew, to educate yourself and learn.

I am a mature student, a serving soldier in the British Army for over 10 years, a wife to a husband who was deployed overseas on 2 occasions for more than half of my course, and a mother of a 6 year old daughter. I studied the Access to Nursing alongside intensive Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English classes while working full time. Without a doubt, this course has changed my life. The moment it started on May 1st 2019; it has been nonstop until May 8th 2020. My evenings, nights, weekends and annual leave were literally swallowed by this course.

I can honestly say that I came on this course clueless, but also, with a positive attitude to learn. There were of course some challenging times on this course that stretched me due to work and personal circumstances. Days like those, I felt like the burden was too much to bear, but when I consider all the sacrifices I've made and my dream of becoming a nurse, I had to adapt and overcome. My tutors were extremely amazing, quite understanding and extra supportive throughout these challenging times.

There is a saying that "the race is not for the swift, but for those who can endure", and endure I did. Words cannot explain how proud I am of my accomplishments, considering from where I've started. Support and encouragement came from every direction, but my biggest cheerleader was my daughter. She always seemed the happiest every time I told her I got another Distinction. It has been a journey I will never forget and because of completing this diploma, I am eligible to apply for university and extremely confident to start in September 2022 and pursue a Child Nursing degree.

I studied with DistanceLearningCentre.com as an alternative way into university. I did the Access to Higher Education Diploma (Allied Health professions) in Paramedicine. Before starting my course, I was stressing out trying to find a way to get into university or the medical field without any previous education or experience in that particular area. I was so glad after doing so much searching for cheap online courses I found DistanceLearningCentre.com. At first, I wasn't sure, so I called them and they were extremely helpful and gave me so much advice.

I always wanted to study nursing at university but I knew I needed to do a course before I could apply. I chose to do Paramedicine and was amazed with the support from all the tutors I had. I could study at my own pace and no matter what I could always go back to my tutors for help and support. I couldn't have done this all without the help of my two excellent supportive tutors.
