At school it was always my intention to join the Ambulance Service and I achieved the then relevant qualifications but my career took a different turn. Last year I decided to revisit this dream and was offered an Emergency Support role on the front line. I wish to become a Paramedic in the future and hope do so via my employer, who will send me to university whilst I'm working for them.

In order to be eligible for this scheme, I need acceptable, recent qualifications. Since I am now 37 years old, my A-levels are "out of date" so DistanceLearningCentre.com was recommended to me by the University involved and my employer. I now have this qualification and hope to join the scheme next year, meaning I could be a Paramedic in just four years of changing career.

The course was brilliant for me because it's all remote learning and was very flexible, allowing me to go at my pace and fit it around full time employment and a busy life. Tutors are available for help and guidance and the forum is very helpful for questions you may need answering outside of office hours. The materials provided are easy to understand and interesting, with good links to further resources.

I really don't know how to thank DistanceLearningCentre.com and their excellent tutors who guided and encouraged me to finish my access course and get a Place in university.

Previously I was a Computer Science student but I wanted to transfer into Nursing and I didn't have right qualifications to apply. So I did Health and Social Care foundation but most universities prefered Access to Nursing and it was very stressful time for me.

Then I heard about DistanceLearningCentre.com, I applied and got a place. Studying with them was amazing, it helped me develop many skills and they've got some amazing Tutors. Without them I would'nt be writing this now so a big thank you.

I had to get both work experience and also academic qualification to apply for nursing and DistanceLearningCentre.com is the right place. I did my studies online and I did work experience in a few places. I had a part time job too. The main thing when studying online is that you have to be self-motivated. There will be help, but if you don't put effort and time and hard work you won't meet your goal.

I passed my Access Course and I got a place at Birmingham City University for Nursing. I am super-excited to start my course. I began studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com in December 2013 and I cannot recommend them highly enough. As a single mother with a full and part time job, I needed an education provider that allowed me to study in my own time and they were the ideal company.

I had been out of education for 10 years and was apprehensive as to what to expect. However, I shouldn't have worried. The course material was easy to follow and I had the expert help of two tutors throughout my course; help, support and advice was only a phone call or e-mail away.

I have now completed my Access to HE course with excellent results. I am very proud of my achievements so far and look forward to applying to study at University. From a young age I have always been interested in the caring profession, so nursing was my first choice as a career. Although, I did not have enough credits at level 3 after my A levels to gain a place at university. So I began working as a health care assistant at a hospital for a few years to gain experience in care. Then, after hearing about DistanceLearningCentre.com from my sister, who had previously completed an access course, I decided to go for it.

The DistanceLearningCentre.com access course enabled me to complete the course in my own time whilst still working full time. The course is obviously recognised by universities because I have received four offers. Now after a lot of effort and hard work I have completed the course and am looking forward to studying adult nursing next year. (Nov 15)

My 1st stepping stone to a fulfilling and rewarding career and life - Jaco Ferreira

Since I was a young boy I had a dream; a dream to become a proper nurse one day, help people, make the ill better, and with the help of the DLC team my dream is now becoming a reality.

In 2011 I enrolled in the Access to HE Diploma (Nursing, Midwifery and Health Professions) course provided by DistanceLearningCentre.com. I worked full-time and my father sadly passed away just as I started, things were difficult. However, my tutor encouraged me to keep going, to believe in myself and I managed, with her support, to successfully complete the course in 2012. It is now 2015 and I am about to enter stage 3 of the BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) course at Plymouth University which I am really enjoying.

The end is in sight. I am getting closer to becoming the qualified nurse I always wanted to be, able to help those is need, making those who are ill better, and supporting their families.
