I am a mature student who is embarking on a long-awaited ambition to become a lawyer that started at an early age, and little did I know that it would be decades later before I could actually make that ambition a reality. It was not until two years ago that I decided to pursue on the long-awaited ambition.
DistanceLearningCentre.com has helped me grow in terms of my writing and confidence, and I would not have done it without the help and support of my amazing tutors. They have also somewhat become my life coaches where I could confide in them about anything other than my studies. I studied the Access to HE Diploma in Law, but it became more than just studying for a diploma. I found myself indulging in the art of studying and enjoyed every piece of work that I did. The indulging also enabled me to reflect on my goals and my life. It has given me the confidence to believe in what I am doing with no barriers in the way. I have successfully completed my diploma and will be pursuing a Law degree with the Open University this October (2024), en route to becoming a barrister. My advice to others is that it is never too late to pursue your ambitions, and never let anyone define your limits.

With A levels in humanities I embarked on my Gap Year with a view to broadening my horizons and life experience; my first trip was to the Atlas Mountains where I was lucky enough to study prehospital mountain medicine with a group of experienced Medics. This was the turning point for me in wanting to change in favour of the sciences and try to work out how I could achieve this. I wanted to try and fit this into a very tight timeframe so I could apply for a Medical science course starting in September 2024. I researched many options deciding online was the only option to fit the limited time. The DistanceLearningCentre.com was a perfect fit for my schedule and facilitated a bespoke Medicine focused Diploma, the process was very logical and within a week I started the Diploma; keen and a little apprehensive about the task ahead. My personal tutor was very supportive and answered all my questions very promptly, the workload was daunting and required discipline but well laid out and explained. The last time I had studied Physics, Biology, and Chemistry was in my GCSE year and my academic year were unlucky enough to have exams cancelled due to Covid. This meant i was looking at some concepts for the first time, taking a lot of research and studying, with my tutor available for specific questions and tutorials. The team in the office were quick to answer any admin questions and were always helpful. I managed to achieve a clean sweep of distinctions in all my units which I am absolutely delighted about, it has led to me gaining a place on a BSc degree course in Medical Studies at Exeter University which is very competitive and I couldn’t have done this without my Diploma. With some university offers being turned down from my top choice universities, I knew I needed to do something other than my BTEC Extended Diploma to get me to into a Russel group university.
After doing some looking around at different courses and course providers, I decided to enrol on an Access to HE Diploma with DistanceLearningCentre.com. I chose this course as this would give me just the qualification I needed to get an offer from my dream universities. I also decided to do this course with DistanceLearningCentre.com as they would be able to provide me with the flexibility, convenience, and support that I needed to complete this course whilst also being in the process of completing my second year of my BTEC Extended Diploma.
