I left college after only completing AS levels, not knowing what I really wanted to do for a career, and I ended up working in administration for a number of years. After some research and reflection, I decided that I wanted to study nursing at university. However, I could not enrol at the local college to do the Access course because it required me to give up my full-time job, which I was hesitant to do.

I thought that was the end of my aspirations, until an internet search brought me to DistanceLearningCentre.com. I was so happy to find that I could fit studying around my job, and that I could pay in monthly instalments. I enrolled straight away. I really enjoyed the course and I learned a great deal, including how to study independently which will be very useful at university.

My tutor's help has been invaluable, although I had to have a lot of self-motivation too! It was difficult to work and study at the same time, but I managed to complete the course in under a year and achieved many distinctions. I have accepted an offer to study Adult Nursing at the University of Hertfordshire in September - something that would not have been possible without the opportunity given to me by DistanceLearningCentre.com. I am so proud of what I have achieved, and am very grateful to my tutor and everyone else at DistanceLearningCentre.com who have my everlasting thanks!

I have just finished my access to nursing course with DistanceLearningCentre.com. I chose DistanceLearningCentre.com as I wanted to go onto University but didn't have any A levels; I also wanted to study from home. I now have a conditional offer to study the career I want to do - ODP in September which I can't wait to start!

There were points when I thought why am I doing all this, but it is such a good feeling at the end of each module ? knowing you've completed it. It is an even better feeling when all the work and exam has been done ? knowing that you've managed to complete the course, it is a great achievement! It is all worth it in the end knowing you are a step closer to your chosen career! The tutors and all the staff at DistanceLearningCentre.com are very supportive and helpful and are always available when you need to speak to someone about your course. Thank you DistanceLearningCentre.com for all your help!

Studying at DistanceLearningCentre.com was absolutely right for me. I worked full time throughout the course and the way the course is structured allowed me to work in my own time and at my own pace. The tutors I had were great and were only a phone call or email away and responded with speed to provide advice and support! They made me feel at ease and gave me the will power to continue, when times got hard.

I initially wanted to study midwifery but this changed during my course as I began working with Learning Disabled Adults and loved it. I was able to adjust my units accordingly to be more Nursing specific. I have now been offered a place at Plymouth University studying Adult Nursing and can't wait to start in September! Thank you DistanceLearningCentre.com, I couldn't have done it without you!

I have always wanted to be a teacher but wanted to gain life experience first. I decided last year that it was finally time to fullfil my dream and so started looking at university entry requirements. I found out I did not have enough UCAS points to apply for the course, leaving me with the options of either doing another A level for two years or an access course. The Access course at my local college required you to attend two full days a week and two half days making it hard to continue a full time job.

I soon discovered DistanceLearningCentre.com which was perfect, enabling me to work at my own pace, to work full time and was a quarter of the price, the college was going to charge. I completed the course in 10 months and received conditional offers from all Three Universities I applied to, in order to study Primary Education with Qualified Teachers Status.

The Educational theory and practice modules I found really useful and believe have prepared me very well indeed for the next three years of university study. All of my tutors have been great and the course has really boosted my confidence in essay and report writing. Working full time and studying has been tough at times but when the work comes back with distinctions and merits, finding out you have passed the exam, finally finishing the course and receiving offers from universities, all make the last 10 months totally worthwhile.

I decided to take the DistanceLearningCentre.com course in order to fulfil a lifelong dream of becoming a midwife. I never thought I could change a career at the grand age of 45, but I have now completed the course and have secured a place at University for September 2012.

My past work history ranges from admin to been a publican, so regardless of age or past work history you can still achieve your goals. I found the course hard going as I was out of academic study for a few years, but the tutors were so supportive, they really helped me get through a few wobbly times, also, the course materials are very comprehensive.

I have completed the course with distinctions across the board, I now miss studying and can't wait to start my studies in midwifery at university. For all of those who think they are too old I would say Go for it, you're never too old.
