DistanceLearningCentre.com helped me to achieve my dream of becoming a nurse, which I never thought would be possible, and for that, I will be forever grateful for my tutors' support and DistanceLearningCentre.com as a whole.
My dream of becoming a nurse began after witnessing the exceptional care my dad received from the various nurses and doctors after falling ill from a severe stroke. However, I doubted my ability to perform in a university setting and applied for a nursing apprenticeship instead. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful in my nursing interviews, so I decided to pursue a career as a dental nurse. After several years, I decided I wanted to further my knowledge and looked into different opportunities, which all led me back to university, and this is when I found DistanceLearningCentre.com.
I was super eager for my new challenge; however, I was nervous about the process of online studying. But instantly, I was put at ease with how quickly my first tutor reached out. They were extremely informative and ensured I felt confident in the course before proceeding. Once I started my units, I was amazed by all of the different resources that were provided to me, from detailed learning materials, online videos, referencing guides, recommended books and articles, but also the support and knowledge from each of my tutors throughout all of my modules. Each tutor gave swift and in-depth responses to any questions I had, whether that be through emails, phone calls or Zoom meetings. They would always go above and beyond to ensure I was never left uncertain in any areas of my work, and their feedback was always extremely helpful and enabled me to reach higher grades at distinctions, which I didn’t think I was capable of.
When it came to applying via UCAS, I had no idea where to begin. But again, DistanceLearningCentre.com made it so easy with the help from one of my lovely tutors, who also provided me with a great reference of my performance so far as a student. I also had a couple of phone calls to prepare me for different styles of interviews and how to approach my answers smoothly and effectively.
Towards the end of my studies, I began to feel uncertain in my course choice for university, as I originally applied for Dental Therapy - yet in my heart, I knew I should’ve chosen Nursing. I felt comfortable enough to discuss this problem with my tutor, who was extremely supportive and explained this was normal and many students would change their mind on their original choice, and it was something I shouldn’t stress over. They introduced me to UCAS EXTRA, which is where I then applied for Adult Nursing, and after my interview, I received an unconditional offer!

I would recommend studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com to anyone. 6 years ago, I never believed I would feel confident enough to apply for a Nursing degree, but now I am looking forward to the start of my new journey in September!

Through the access to HE online diploma with DistanceLearningCentre.com, I am delighted to have managed to meet the conditions to access my University of choice and secure a place to become a paramedic. At the end of the COVID pandemic, I was made redundant from my job of 20 years. Overnight, I had lost my identity. I struggled. What would I do? What COULD I do as I had left school with GCSEs only? What did I WANT to do?
I decided that going back into education was my only option, but as a mother of 2 and nearing 40, I knew it would be hard. I had always wanted to work in healthcare, so after researching my options, I felt that studying in my own time and at my own pace at home would be best. I started an access course in nursing/midwifery and absolutely loved learning! I re-found my love of biology, and after completing the course, I applied to University to study Paramedic Science. I GOT IN! This September, I will be starting my degree, and in 3 years, I will have my dream job of driving an ambulance and helping people.
