Coming from Romania and juggling English as my third language, I hit a few walls when trying to break into the UK education system. I'd thought all was done with regards to my education as I was unable to continue my university due to a financial problem. Ten plus years later, here I am with a stepping stone to my higher education studies! All thanks to the DistanceLearningCenter.com. The best part was that I could carry it out at my own pace. With my busy work schedule, I couldn't keep up with the pace that would be normally expected of a good student. I had to go on frequent long trips and months of service abroad. In spite of this, my tutor was extremely patient with me, while at the same time kept pushing me to go forward to prevent me from lagging behind too much.
The course was simple and easy to understand. The study materials were precise and so useful that I believe I will make further use of them going forward. I found particular interest in Biology and the research study at the end. Although it is just the beginning, I now got the hang of scientific research and I can now relate to a lot of research terms and their importance in every field.

At the age of 40 I was nervous about studying again when my employer asked me to, but I found that learning at my own pace was really helpful when balancing a family and working full time whilst completing my studies. The learning materials were fantastic, with links to other resources such as YouTube videos being provided to aid understanding. Tutors had appointments available every week if I needed them, which was great. The Built Environment course has really helped me and supported my new role as a Project Officer. I am looking forward to developing my knowledge, with my Diploma building the foundations for this.
I was over the moon to receive Distinctions in all of my assignments. Thanks to both of my tutors for the support and guidance that they have both given to me. I’m not sure what the next steps are for me, however my employer is keen for me to undertake another qualification following on from this, so the Diploma has given me a great foundation for the next stage of my career.

Due to a chronic illness, I was unable to continue to A-levels with the rest of my peers. I spent a year out of school working on my health and then attempted an A-level from home. However, the online provider could not offer the flexibility I needed for my health. After feeling disappointed by another year without furthering my education, I eventually discovered Access to HE courses, which I could complete within a year. I chose an English and Humanities course with DistanceLearningCentre.com after reading positive reviews and learning about their flexibility.
Although I initially chose Humanities because I enjoyed English in school, I loved studying the Psychology topics even more. Therefore, I picked Psychology and Psychology with Education degrees when applying for universities. I did not think I would ever be able to get a place at a top university, especially without a traditional education.
