I served in the military for 8 years as a musician and during the pandemic was deployed a number of times to assist in hospitals as well as with the vaccination roll-out. This inspired me to pursue a career in healthcare, specifically Radiotherapy. Unfortunately the first time around, I was unsuccessful in applying to university, but it was recommended that I complete an access to HE diploma. The DistanceLearningCentre.com has helped me to achieve the academic requirements for my dream university course, and I’m really excited to have earned my place on the Radiotherapy and Oncology course at AECC in September! Making the decision to use DistanceLearningCentre.com for my on line course came relatively easily. I am a full time Health Care Assistant, my end goal being Paediatric Nursing.
Being an older student the concern was certainly with how I would cope and the unknown changes in the educational system for me.
Since day one I have had endless support from my two tutors, any question, no matter how small or large, has been answered and extra support given. The online discussions and presentations are incredible. Sometimes I felt that speaking to others gave me a clearer view of the answers I sought.
In December of my course I unfortunately became very unwell, I could not continue and although very upset at this, to me , more important things needed to happen. Getting better for one. Being a type one diabetic with two sons was stressful enough at that point. When I next contacted the team to see what I could do, the fantastic and amazing help and support I received for getting back into the work and having a plan with access whenever needed, I cannot explain how thankful I am. There have been many trials and tribulations, but we have battled through and I feel come out shining.
My career is now taking a big leap and I will be progressing just as I wanted.

Studying with the DistanceLearningCentre.com has been a rewarding, albeit challenging, enterprise. The starting modules quickly teach you essential skills such as Harvard referencing and essay writing, providing a solid foundation for the rest of the course. Initially, I had reservations about the extensive criminology module required for the Access to HE Law course, but I found the materials engaging and exciting.
Balancing this course with full-time employment was undoubtedly challenging, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. For the last eight years, I have worked as a vehicle technician, and the DLC has equipped me with the necessary skills and qualifications to transition out of the trade and into the world of law.
I found the law section of the course informative, reinforcing my decision to pursue a career in law. The subsections of each module build upon the last, allowing you to develop a vast knowledge of your chosen subject area.
I chose to complete an Access qualification rather than A levels because of the flexibility it offers with work and how closely it mimics university-level study. You are responsible for your progression, and the reading and self-study you do form the basis for your assessments.
I am excited to continue my studies at the University of Bristol Law School in September and would encourage anyone considering taking a course with DistanceLearningCentre.com to go for it!

Since I can remember I have always wanted a career in healthcare, however I didn’t have the required subject grades. I struggled with the idea of needing to complete a Higher Access Diploma as I doubted if I could cope. Since completing A-Levels, I worked full time and the thought of going back into a classroom scared me. Luckily, after researching, I found DistanceLearningCentre.com. The reason this course suited me so perfectly was because I could complete the course in my own time at my own pace. This was important for me as I needed to work alongside studying as well as moving homes with my partner. As I had been out of education for several years, I was nervous about my academic skills not being to the required standard. Yet, from the offset, my tutor was brilliant!
