I refused to give up on my dream of becoming a solicitor, and DistanceLearningCentre.com gave me the tools and encouragement to pursue it. - Aimee Gates
I am proud to have completed the Diploma in Law and Legal Professions with DistanceLearningCentre.com. Their incredible support and motivation helped me stay on track despite challenges. I chose DistanceLearningCentre.com because I didn’t attend college; I found it hard to concentrate in that environment and felt mentally ahead of my peers. However, I refused to give up on my dream of becoming a solicitor, and DistanceLearningCentre.com gave me the tools and encouragement to pursue it. My tutor was outstanding, and the entire team was always supportive and understanding. Thanks to their guidance, I have now secured offers from three different universities to study Law, bringing me one step closer to my goal. I am forever grateful for their role in my journey.
I feel both immensely proud of myself, and grateful to DistanceLearningCentre.com for the support and guidance they’ve provided. - Kassie Barker-Jones
My time at school during my younger years isn’t something I looked back on fondly; I found it incredibly challenging and often struggled with it. For that reason, I, for a long time, felt that education was something I would never enjoy and very much turned away from. I’m glad to say that isn’t the case now at 30!
In my late 20s, I was diagnosed with ADHD; suddenly, a lot of things started to make sense, and I began to realise that it wasn’t that I didn’t like school, it just wasn’t something that worked for me at that time. After dealing with my own experiences, my new diagnosis and connecting with psychologists, I started to think - or to be honest, at that point, dream! - about going back and studying psychology, healing the part of me that for years had felt like I wasn’t academic and didn’t have the intelligence to do these things. I thought about it for a long time, going between “I can’t do this” and “life is both too short and too long to not try” for a while. After much prepping and planning, I was initially planning to study online for my degree at another provider. But my gut told me I would be better trying another route, and that’s when I found DistanceLearningCentre.com and signed up to the Access to Higher Education Psychology and Counselling course. The sign-up was easy, the onboarding simple, and I met my tutor quickly, who explained everything about what it would entail, the structure of the course, and anything else I needed to know.
At first, I was quite overwhelmed to be learning again after such a long time, but my tutor was always on hand to talk me through anything. The initial course focuses on study and research skills, which I found really helpful to get to grips with studying again after so long out; it got me into the rhythm, and I began to enjoy every module. It was also helpful to talk through career plans and things such as my personal statement. I found the advice and guidance to be really very helpful.
The course content is really interesting; there are various elements you can go and read further on yourself too, they provide a list of recommended reading, which really helped me throughout the course to develop my understanding. During the assessments, my tutor was always on hand for me to talk through my worries or ask any questions, and I found that the availability was brilliant too. I found the guidance really useful in developing my studies further, gaining more knowledge and really delving into the course.
I have now finished my course (I started in September 2024, finished in May 2025), and I am heading to university in September to study Psychology. Initially, when applying to university, I had convinced myself I couldn’t do it, so I applied for a couple of foundation year courses alongside my first choice. But after achieving 45 credits at distinction (which I still cannot believe!), I will be attending my first-choice uni. I feel both immensely proud of myself, and grateful to DistanceLearningCentre.com for the support and guidance they’ve provided. Thanks for everything - my tutor & DistanceLearningCentre.com!
Distance learning brought back my confidence and love for learning - Aleks Sobyczyk
I recently decided to pivot my career journey and start from zero, with next to no confidence in going back to education. I work full-time and wasn’t sure I’d be able to complete an access course with most being face-to-face learning. I loved the independence DistanceLearningCentre.com provided me with; I was able to work through the learning materials myself with ease, especially with the support from the tutors. I was quite an anxious learner and always had lots of questions. My first tutor was amazing at supporting me through this. Her support was unmatched; she calmed all my nerves and was always there to answer my questions and support me through the learning materials. She was also amazing at helping me set my goals and pushed me to achieve them with her thorough feedback. My second tutor was also fantastic, checking in weekly, ensuring me and her other students knew exactly what we should be doing leading up to moderation. The distance learning course I completed, and my tutors solidified that I have chosen the right path and built up my confidence to tackle university in September. I can’t thank my tutors enough, and I would recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com to anyone wanting to expand their knowledge or, like me, is starting a new career journey.
Thank you, DistanceLearningCentre.com!
A step closer to my dream - Kim Senerez
I first dreamed of becoming a doctor when I was just ten years old. I remember sitting in a small classroom in the Philippines, scribbling “Dr.” before my name. From that moment, I worked hard in school, determined to turn that dream into reality. But dreams are often tested by life’s circumstances, especially when you don’t come from a rich family. The reality of poverty meant that medical school was out of reach for me, and therefore, like many others, I left home to work abroad as a nurse.
The UK became my safe haven. I now work as an ICU Nurse in the NHS—a role that has taught me courage, empathy, and strength to my patients. But despite everything I’ve achieved, the dream of becoming a doctor never left me.
After thorough research, I discovered DistanceLearningCentre.com. Their Access to Medicine course felt it was made for people like me - working professionals with unfinished dreams. The course’s structure, clarity and flexibility was beyond excellent. The learning materials and podcasts were easy to follow, guiding me step by step through challenging content in a way that felt manageable and rewarding.
One of the unexpected blessings of this experience was the community I found through DistanceLearningCentre.com. I formed meaningful connections with fellow students who, like me, were navigating their own challenges. They became my source of encouragement and strength, especially during moments of self-doubt.
Balancing the course with full-time ICU work was challenging. I studied on my days off and even in stolen moments on my breaks at work. There were times I felt exhausted, behind, and full of doubt. Worse, I had to face discouraging remarks from others who questioned my decision. “You’re already 30 years old”, they said. “It’s too late to start over again”. But despite the noise, I kept going.
My tutor has continuously given me her unwavering support. She was kind, empathetic, responsive, and genuinely invested in my success. Her encouragement and words of wisdom gave me the confidence to keep pushing forward to overcome my struggles. I would never have finished the course without her help.
Despite all the challenges, I completed the course with full distinction. More than just academic success, this course helped me reclaim a dream I once thought was lost.
As of writing, I am preparing for my UCAT exam, hoping to enter medical school in 2026. As I embark to a new chapter of my journey, I carry with me everything DistanceLearningCentre.com gave me: the knowledge, the discipline, and the belief that it’s never too late to begin again from zero.
And someday, soon, I will return to that ten-year-old child who once wrote “Dr.” before his name and say: “they said it was too late, but thank God we didn’t listen. We made it”.
I feel prepared, excited, and ready for the next chapter - Gaby Gilchrist
Completing my Access to Medicine Diploma with DistanceLearningCentre.com has been one of the proudest achievements of my life. The journey was far from easy as I faced some incredibly difficult personal challenges along the way, and there were times I truly doubted whether I could keep going. But despite everything, I not only completed the course, I achieved results beyond anything I expected. Each step pushed me to grow, and I proved to myself that I was capable of more than I ever imagined.
I’m especially grateful to my second tutor, whose constant support and belief in me made a real difference. Her guidance helped me to stay focused, motivated, and on track, even during the toughest times.
Thanks to the skills and confidence I’ve gained, I’ve now secured a place at university, something that once felt out of reach. I feel prepared, excited, and ready for the next chapter. This course hasn’t just opened a door to higher education, it’s helped me rebuild belief in myself and my future.
Thank you, DistanceLearningCentre.com, for making this possible!
