You will feel more confident in the academic field, change your perspectives of life and think more deeply about the future - Sarah Al Amide

Studying at DistanceLearningCentre.com was one of the best experiences I have ever had. It has literally changed my life. I was never expecting to finish an online Level 3 Access Course with this confidence, even though having a part-time job and being a single mum for little kids who constantly need care and attention, especially during school breaks. At first, it was a bit scary because I thought it would be isolating, but it was actually the opposite; all the tutors were extremely supportive, and I really cannot thank them enough for all their hard work and effort they put into the coursework. Just the idea of being able to finish it online in 4 months and going to Uni at this age(34) is absolutely overwhelming. I have already recommended DistanceLearningCentre.com to all my friends and family, and some of them are already looking into it.

The website is very easy to navigate, the materials are very clear, not confusing at all (unlike other websites), and support is always available. All you need is a laptop and internet connection. No Microsoft Teams, no Zoom, no platforms at all. I really advise everyone looking for an online course to go for DistanceLearningCentre.com and study with confidence, you won’t regret it, because if I can do it, then YOU CAN DEFINITELY do it!! Do not hesitate, trust me, take it from someone who has left school since she was 16.

You will feel more confident in the academic field, change your perspectives of life and think more deeply about the future and what it may hold for you with a degree and a prestigious career. I am absolutely over the moon with having secured a place at the University for LLB starting in September 2025.

Thank you, DistanceLearningCentre.com, for helping me achieve my dream goal in entering University and studying LLB

Throughout my studies, I made a conscious effort to engage with fellow students through the forum and relevant Facebook groups. I regularly reached out to peers and contributed to discussions where possible. I believe it's important to be involved with your peer group, as this strengthens understanding and confidence. This is something I fully intend to continue when I start at university in September.

My reason for embarking on the Access to HE course was to gain the necessary entry qualifications for my chosen degree at Exeter University. Unfortunately, I had to withdraw from my course at Plymouth University in January 2025 due to mental health challenges. I chose DistanceLearningCentre.com because they were supportive of my aim to complete the Access course within four months. I feel extremely proud that I’ve successfully achieved this, gaining the grades required for university entry while managing tight weekly deadlines. This has been particularly challenging given the impact that pressure and deadlines can have on my mental health.

Alongside completing the course, I have worked hard to improve my mental wellbeing in preparation for starting university in September. Despite the pressures, I stayed committed to my studies and found the motivation to keep going, even during the most difficult weeks.

I knew from the outset that I would need to work hard, stay organised, and make full use of the support and resources available. I approached each module with an open mindset, actively sought feedback when needed, and took time to reflect on and apply what I’d learned. This helped me steadily improve, both in understanding what was required in each module and in producing work of the standard needed to achieve distinctions. I could see my confidence and skills grow with each assignment, and this progress has been incredibly rewarding. The academic and personal development I’ve gained through this course will be invaluable as I move into university-level study.

This experience has allowed me to grow not only academically but also mentally. I now feel far more prepared and confident as I look ahead to university life. I’m proud of what I’ve achieved and truly grateful for the support and sense of community that accompanied this learning journey

Achieving grades that outstripped any of my expectations totally surprised me. I am so eager to start my degree journey now and have goals to aspire to work towards a professional career in teaching - Karen Scarborough

I went back into education later in life after having 3 children, two of which have SE needs. My reason for studying is down to previously experienced pitfalls within the education system that some children and families have experienced. This has driven me to become a teacher with a focus on supporting children with special education needs.

I embarked on my diploma after not being in education for over 25 years. I recognised that it would be a challenge whilst working full-time, going through a messy divorce and looking after my children. I questioned myself regarding fitting her work and studies in. However, I did it!

I did a lot of planning and had the determination to prove something to myself. At first, I focused on learning how to research and gain the basic study skills required for learning, which put me in an excellent position to complete my units. When I handed in my first graded piece of work, I was hoping for a pass and half expecting it to be handed back. To my surprise, I attained a distinction. This gave me the motivation and confidence I needed to believe in myself. I admit, studying, working and looking after my children was a challenge. However, it was a challenge I completed, and was happy to have done so. I gave myself an excellent timeline, using my individual learning plan, and managing work and studies effectively. I started to enjoy the challenges of learning new subjects, completing assessments and also achieving excellent grades. I became enthused about studying and also gained confidence as a person in general.

Meeting every deadline and achieving grades that outstripped any of my expectations totally surprised me. I am so eager to start my degree journey now and have goals to aspire to work towards a professional career in teaching. I have shown my children that with determination and self-belief, they can also achieve in any circumstance or situation they are faced with. I have also shown them that I am not just their mum, but an intelligent, confident and mature individual they can be proud of.

I proved to myself that it’s never too late to chase dreams - Judita Jovicic

My decision to return to university as a mature student was exciting but terrifying. I moved to the UK just a few years ago, and the thought of writing academic essays in English (my second language) felt overwhelming. On top of that, I felt insecure about my age and whether I could succeed academically. The self-doubt was real, but I was determined to improve my life.

When I enrolled in the Access to Higher Education course, I was nervous and uncertain. Balancing work and studying wasn’t easy, but being able to learn online at my own pace made it possible. My tutors were incredible from the very beginning. Their patience and encouragement helped me develop my academic English, as well as build back my confidence.

This course didn't just prepare me for university, it revived my self-belief, and I proved to myself that it’s never too late to chase dreams. Reflecting on how far I’ve come fills me with pride, and the future excites me more than ever.

My journey began when I believed university was no longer an option for me. After leaving high school without the qualifications needed to pursue higher education, I never imagined I’d one day be preparing for university. But at the age of 30, DistanceLearningCentre.com changed everything.

Thanks to the flexible and accessible structure of the course, I was able to combine over a decade of clinical experience as a surgical dental nurse with online study - an integration that filled me with confidence. The course opened doors I thought were closed forever and gave me the foundation to pursue multiple university pathways with confidence.

What truly made the difference was the outstanding support from my tutors. Their encouragement, kindness, and expertise made me feel seen, capable, and motivated from start to finish. The course materials were well-structured, comprehensive, and tailored to help students succeed, and they did exactly that. I was proud to achieve the highest possible marks, something I never thought I would accomplish, to my surprise.

I wholeheartedly recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com to anyone who feels that their educational path has passed them by. It has given me a second chance, a renewed sense of purpose, and opportunities I never dreamed possible. I will always be deeply grateful.
