…having an ILP and the support of tutors helped a great deal! - Victoria Casmore-Jones

Having finished an apprenticeship as a dental nurse and being qualified for a year, I wanted to push myself further in the field of dentistry. My future as a dental hygiene and therapist seemed manageable, with the help of an additional qualification, this being the Access to Higher Education Diploma (Science) Option 1.

DistanceLearningCentre.com caught my attention due to the flexibility of the workload. I completed my course alongside working full time and found the workload manageable. I started the course in September and finished in time for June moderation. Of course, there were times where I felt like the amount of work, I needed to complete in time for moderation was unrealistic, however having an ILP and the support of tutors helped a great deal!

I am so grateful to the tutors that helped me along the way. They were extremely supportive, attentive, knowledgeable and always gave personalised feedback and advice. They managed to keep me motivated and excited to continue my progress with the course. Without their help, I wouldn’t have achieved the grades required to attend university.

Additionally, the materials given on each subject of the course were extremely helpful and useful. I was able to easily understand all the information prior to completing tasks.

I believe this course has helped me to develop a foundation of skills that will be able to assist me in university. This includes competence, organisation for referring and being able to write in a high academic standard.

With the help of DistanceLearningCentre.com, I have successfully received an offer to study at my dream university, being the University of Birmingham to study Dental Hygiene and Therapy. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for me. (June 2022)

My tutors were all so, so helpful and towards the end of my course I began receiving Distinctions in all of my work, I couldn't believe it! - Rachel Solen

I'm sure I'm not alone in the sense that the pandemic made me reconsider my career choices.  After 10 years in the corporate events industry (with no qualifications other than GCSE's) I was at a bit of a loss as to what to do next.  The company I worked for had to close down for 4 months during the first lockdown and I began to worry what else I'd do if the event's industry never returned to what it was.  I was on maternity leave luckily, but unsure if there would b e a company let alone a position for me on my return, so I began to research my options.  I'd always dreamed of training as an Architect but the 7 years at university seemed like a pipe dream, then along came DistanceLearningCentre.com!

I felt like my introductory unit tutor spent the time getting to know me and my personal circumstances.  He reassured me that firstly, I wasn't alone and that there were lots of other mums who were navigating career changes too, and secondly and most importantly, I could do this!  The enormity of studying, writing essays and taking exams quickly subsided and I set out with a confidence boost and began my work.  During the first stages of the qualification, I discovered that Architectural Technology would be a better fit for me, I learned about the process of applying to university and even drafted a personal statement so that when the time came, I'd be able to use this for my application.  Each tutor that I was allocated throughout my course was super helpful and supportive and gave really detailed and constructive feedback on my work, which I was able to take on board and see my grades improve with each unit.  My tutors were all so, so helpful and towards the end of my course I began receiving Distinctions in all of my work, I couldn't believe it!

Fast forward 11 months, a few long evenings, 2 exams, 5 modules completed, a return to work, a baby, a toddler, a few months home-schooling and the end of a pandemic later and I've met the conditions of my offer, handed my notice in and I'm ready for University and I can't wait.  Anyone who is doubting themselves please don't, you can do it! When I started the access course, I was working for my Local Ambulance Trust, and my dream was to secure a place at university and train to be a Paramedic. Working full time distance learning was the best way for me to learn. Admittedly throughout the course there have been times when I lost faith and didn't think I could achieve my goals, but the support from my tutors kept me going and I can now say that I have secured a place at University and I will commence studies into Paramedic Practice in September.

I always struggled at school, and I never thought this was possible, but all I can say is with hard work, dedication and the help and support from DistanceLearningCentre.com, anything is possible. (June 2022)

When I was 17, I had to take a break from education, as I was admitted into hospital. When I was 20, I started thinking about my future and what I would like to achieve. Even though my time out of education was far from exciting it was where I gained an interest in studying Occupational Therapy.

I started looking at different courses which would allow meet the entrance criteria to study Occupational Therapy at university. During my search I came across the Access to HE Diploma Health Professions (Science) course, ran by DistanceLearningCentre.com. The flexibility of the DistanceLearningCentre.com was a massive bonus to me, as I was still getting my life back on track. Re-joining education was a very daunting prospect. I felt anxious about fitting in, especially now that I was a bit older. However, the online aspect of this course felt like the perfect solution to get me back on my feet and ease me back into education.

The whole team were so supportive throughout my learning. Every week I arranged a tutorial with my tutor; whether that was just a general catch up or helping me understand a topic. The tutors were so friendly and reassuring.  If I was struggling with something they were just an email away, and they replied very quickly.

UCAS was quite intimidating, but I was guided every step of the way, which made it a lot easier. I also received interview support from my tutor which I found very beneficial to help boost my confidence. Now I am looking forward to starting my Occupational Therapy Undergraduate degree at Salford University!

I would highly recommend studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com. The tutors made me feel welcomed and at ease with my studies. The course has been a good steppingstone to get back into education and I am grateful for the staff at DistanceLearningCentre.com. Thank you! (June 2022)

DistanceLearningCentre.com gave me huge support and confidence to achieve my goals. - Meie Deng

As a mature student already in my 40s without any UK secondary and high school education experience, deciding to undertake an HE Diploma in Health Science as a stepping stone to an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy was difficult. DistanceLearningCentre.com, a leading online college for access to UK universities, was one of the colleges recommended by the university I wanted to apply. Choosing DistanceLearningCentre.com is because it fulfils all my needs.

DistanceLearningCentre.com allows me to start my course immediately with easy registration. Also, it's very flexible, which is very important to me as I work four days a week with varying shifts and need to take care of my family, including a boy and my in-laws, who are in their 80s.

The website is easy to navigate and contains many useful links, resources and information. The study materials are written in great detail and easy to understand, perfect for someone like me who is not native English.

The tutors were incredibly supportive, friendly and reliable, especially my biology tutor. Without any experience of British high school education, I was extremely worried and stressed at the beginning of the course. I don't have any experience of writing assessments, so I have a lot of questions. But my biology tutor was very responsive, patiently explained all my questions and gave me a lot of helpful resources.

Because my first language is Chinese, I have language barriers in reading and writing. I made some spelling and grammar mistakes on my first ungraded assessment. But my tutor gave me very detailed feedback and fantastic advice on how I can improve, which was very helpful during the course. Also, she always motivated me. That gave me huge confidence. And I became more independent with my studies. Without the support and encouragement of my tutors, I don't think I could complete the course and achieve my goals - I've achieved 45 distinctions, exceeding the requirements of the university of my choice.

In addition, DistanceLearningCentre.com provided me with excellent UCAS support. The tutors helped me every step of the way and provided a detailed reference. Their advice and tips also help me perform very well in interviews. Now, I have a place at the university of my choice.

Thank you so much DistanceLearningCentre.com and all the tutors and staffs. (June 2022)
