DistanceLearningCentre.com has given me the tools and knowledge to achieve my career change goals. - Matt Brittain

While studying with the DistanceLearningCentre.com, I have been working full time. I studied the Access to Higher Education Diploma in Law. The goal I wanted to achieve by completing the Access course is to attend university to study Law with the long-term aim of a career change into Law.

Learning with the DistanceLearningCentre.com has meant I could be flexible with my learning and completing the modules. My course tutor was supportive and considerate in organising tutorials that would best suit me.

I applied for five universities and managed to obtain five offers. Before starting this course, I had never written an academic essay or heard of referencing. DistanceLearningCentre.com has given me the tools and knowledge to achieve my career change goals. (June 2022)

When the pandemic hit, I was a mum of a two children under the age of two, suffering from postnatal anxiety and feeling extremely isolated. I had toyed with the idea of becoming a midwife before but there seemed to be too many hurdles in my way, particularly when recurring lockdowns meant everything came grinding to a halt. As I had spent my youth as a young carer, my GCSE’s and A-Level grades were nowhere near what was required. I also didn’t have the experience needed to make any application stand out in what is an extremely competitive field. But I had a visceral feeling that midwifery was the right path for me, so when my nearest University suggested that I take the Access to Higher Education in Nursing and Midwifery course from DistanceLearningCentre.com, I was really thrown a lifeline. As this was online learning, I felt reassured that I would be able to continue studying no matter what the pandemic threw at us.

I took a leap of faith and began my access course in March 2021, alongside separately studying for a GCSE in Human Biology, aiming to have it completed within one year. I loved the flexibility of the course and the fact that I could work at my own pace during the kids nap times and in the evenings. In the past I had really struggled in exam-style conditions so the predominantly essay-based assessment style was perfect for me. I found the course content fascinating and relevant to my chosen field. This foundational knowledge really helped me during my university interviews.

I felt supported the entire way, from the very initial call that I had with my first tutor, to the final email from my last. It was after some prompting from my tutor to increase my experience that I began volunteering with a local perinatal mental health charity, something that has profoundly changed my life both professionally and personally. When I found myself having moments of self-doubt, my tutor was always there to remind me of my true ability.  Despite being online learning, I felt a great sense of community within the Facebook group for students and I was lucky enough to be a member of DistanceLearningCentre.com’s Student Action Group. I have been really impressed by DistanceLearningCentre.com’s commitment to providing the best student experience possible, and it was great to be a part of that process.

With the support of my tutors and other students, I completed the course within the year and achieved more than the grades I needed to apply for university. I am due to begin my Midwifery degree at my first-choice university next month. Huge thanks to DistanceLearningCentre.com. (June 2022)

…with the help of the tutors and the amazing community that has amalgamated on Facebook, I have been able to secure five offers to study BSc Physiotherapy. - Luke Lamb

When I was going through my late teenage years, undertaking my A-levels, I had no idea what I really wanted to do. I was never an academic student but I did know I wanted an active career.

I then made the decision to join the British Army, as a CMT, to explore the world; helping people in my new healthcare-based career. Whilst the experience I gained within the military was invaluable, I knew, during this time, that I wanted to pursue a higher educational level.

During the second COVID19 lockdown, I was deployed, alongside 500 other CMTs and HCAs, to various hospitals around the United Kingdom. It was at one of these hospitals that I learned about Access to Higher Education courses, and in particular – DistanceLearningCentre.com. After doing research about the course, structure and autonomous learning, I enrolled myself onto the Access to HE (Science) Physiotherapy course.

I had a vehement desire to succeed on this course, and with the help of the tutors and the amazing community that has amalgamated on Facebook, I have been able to secure five offers to study BSc Physiotherapy.

I cannot recommend this course enough, whilst the experience can be daunting at times, I believe it is an enjoyable experience throughout. I would like to extend my thanks out to DistanceLearningCentre.com team, and community for all the help. (June 2022)

The tutors I had were amazing they were able to help me every step of the way and was always understanding and helpful when I was struggling due to having Crohn's disease and felt like giving up, they were there every step of the way to help me achieve my goal of being accepted into university and getting the required grades needed to make this possible, I will forever be grateful of all the help and support I have had and I highly recommend anyone to go to DistanceLearningCentre.com and study the course that they wish to do, as it would all not be possible without the help and support from the tutors and the Facebook group! A friend of mine introduce DistanceLearningCentre.com when I had a chat with him about going back to studying.

Having been out of school for long, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to study a course entirely based online. I was sceptical; so, I went on their website and read some of the students review and I was encouraged to enrol. I realised my perception was wrong when I started the course.

Although, it wasn’t very easy being a parent and working full time. Also, during my time on the course, I had a baby, moved home and the toughest part was losing a close friend. But through it all, I was able to complete the course with the support from my family and my tutors.

At the end, I achieved the required grades and I’m now holding an offer from the University of East London to study medical physiology.

Thanks to all my Tutors and DistanceLearningCentre.com for your support. I couldn’t have completed the course without the full support of my tutors. I’m now fully equipped with what it takes to succeed at the university level. DistanceLearningCentre.com is one of the best educational institution in the UK and I won’t hesitate to recommend it to people. (June 2022)
