At no point during my time studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com was there a feeling of 'distance' at all - Nicola Miles
I had been a teacher for 16 years but knew I couldn't see myself doing it for a further twenty so I had been contemplating a change of career for a while. A couple of health emergencies saw me ready to commit to making the big jump.
Rather naively I thought it would be easy until I learnt that the qualifications I already had were too old to be used for anything. It was at this point I discovered DistanceLearningCentre.com. I had originally thought I would self-teach the A-levels I needed but the lack of structure and support of this path was a complete contrast to the well supported, well organised and delivered HE Access Course (Radiography) that was being offered by DistanceLearningCentre.com.
The course was so well set out. Starting with the general skills you'll need to be successful in starting a university course, such as essay writing and writing a personal statement, which certainly made the UCAS application much less stressful experience than when I did it 20 years ago!
I have a young son and was teaching part-time so initially set myself a target of 10 months to complete the course, but with the support of my tutors I got so immersed in it I found I completed the course in 4 months with all distinctions in my assessed units.
At no point during my time studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com was there a feeling of 'distance' at all. This was evident not just through contact with tutors supporting study, but with all members of the team. When a university I applied to needed extra information, the exams office sent what they needed the next day!
Using DistanceLearningCentre.com was honestly the best investment I could have made in supporting my decision to change career and I was successful in gaining a place at my first choice of Exeter University to study Radiography - which is rated second in the country for this particular course.
I have completed other fitness industry courses via distance learning over the past 10 years and I can honestly say none of these providers have come close to DistanceLearningCentre.com for communication, quality of teaching and value for money. (Nov 2020) Award of Achievement Nominee
With the help and guidance of my amazing tutors, I completed my course in 4.5 months and achieved distinctions in every graded unit - Daniel Simpson
During the first national lockdown in 2020, and whilst furloughed from work, I had the opportunity to reflect on a few things. Since leaving school halfway through my A levels 13 years ago, and without the grades I needed, I had been going from job to job unsatisfied and not living up to my full potential.
After researching what I need to do to get into university to study Paramedic science, I came across the DistanceLearningCentre.com after a quick search on Google. At first, I was a bit sceptical; I recall reading through the previous students' testimonials and thinking that there was no way I would ever be able to achieve what they had. I took the plunge and enrolled onto the Access to Paramedicine course, alongside the Functional Skills Maths course.
I began my studies and kept regular contact with my tutors who were always extremely helpful, understanding, accommodating, and always on hand to reply promptly to any questions I had. However, the materials throughout my course were of a high standard and this enabled me to crack on independently at my own pace. There are plenty of links to further reading and resources to help you understand the more challenging areas, and to guide you to information which helped achieve those higher grades. Whenever I found myself in need of some help out of hours, the private Facebook group forum was a godsend as there are plenty of posts from fellow students on the same course who were able to point me in the right direction.
The course ignited a passion for learning within me, something that was never there at school. Even maths, which I absolutely resented at school, I ended up enjoying and achieving a grade of 90% on my exam. As a result of this newfound passion for learning, and with the help and guidance of my amazing tutors, I completed my course in 4.5 months and achieved distinctions in every graded unit. I then had some invaluable help composing my personal statement and applying to university through UCAS. After all of my hard work, and the dedicated support I received from the DistanceLearningCentre.com, I managed to secure a place at my first-choice university on the spot at interview.
This sort of thing does not normally happen to me, and I still feel like a child at Christmas. I have developed and come so far since reading others' testimonials and enrolling onto the course, and I have surprised myself a great deal. Places on allied health professional and other healthcare course are subject to fierce competition, and thanks to DistanceLearningCentre.com, I now can say that I am going to university, I am going to do my dream job, I am going to be a paramedic. I cannot thank DistanceLearningCentre.com, and my three amazing tutors enough, and I hope that this testimonial will inspire you if you are reading it. I had doubts, I took the plunge and went for it, and I have achieved great things; if I can do this, so can you! (Nov 2020) Award of Achievement Nominee
Living in Gibraltar, DistanceLearningCentre.com opened many doors for me - Sharleen Parody
I have always had nursing at the back of my mind since I was really young. I began to work as a nursing assistant in the Gibraltar Heath Authority about a year and a half ago. Experiencing what it was like to be around patients and to feel the hospital atmosphere made me want to further my career to become a Registered Nurse. My mother has been a staff nurse for over 30 years which has also encouraged me to become a professional nurse.
Living in Gibraltar, DistanceLearningCentre.com opened many doors for me. I was able to obtain the qualifications necessary to get into University to complete my Adult Nursing degree. I decided to undertake the Access to HE Diploma Allied Health Professionals with DistanceLearningCentre.com. I managed to complete the course in 7 months, working a full-time job at the hospital and looking after my 5-year-old daughter.
Everything and anything is possible if you really work hard for it. I would like to thank all of the team and tutors that provided me with support during my studies with DistanceLearningCentre.com. (Nov 2020)
The course has prepared me well for work involved at university - Joanne Ewing
After many years of working for the Health Service as a secretary, I finally took the first step in October 2019 to pursue a career as a Radiographer. There had always been an excuse not to take things further. However, approaching my 50th birthday I didn't want to look back and have regrets that I never tried, so looking online for an Access Course that would fit around my full-time employment and family commitments, I found DistanceLearningCentre.com.
Applying was the easy part and then the hard work started. At the beginning I had doubts that I would ever be able to complete the course, but the tutors were fantastic and always on hand to answer my questions or put my doubts to rest. A year later I have now finished the course with 45 distinctions which is more than I thought possible. The course has prepared me well for work involved at university and I am thankful for opportunities DistanceLearningCentre.com has opened up for me. All you need to do is apply and see where it takes you! (Nov 2020)
