I found DistanceLearningCentre.com, which was easy to start, had a clear payment plan, a clear plan of topics and how to achieve credits - Chloe Dunton
I began my journey with DistanceLearningCentre.com at 19/20 years old 2 years after completing my A-Levels and not achieving the grades necessary to further my education to university. At this time, I had a 1-year-old daughter, was recovering from a broken pelvis and was 1.5 months into a lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic and I knew I wanted to spend this time furthering my education.
After a lot of research, I found DistanceLearningCentre.com, which was easy to start, had a clear payment plan, a clear plan of topics and how to achieve credits.
During my Diploma I found the topics easy to follow and understand, always able to contact tutors for help and support, my tutors where always compassionate to my personal situation and came across as very happy and enthusiastic about further education. I found the topics, work and writing-style a perfect transition to the style of work at university.
I managed to complete my year-long Access to Nursing and Midwifery diploma in 5 months. I was never held back by my tutors and was always allowed to go at my own fast pace and they supported this by always sending my next topics and marking my work extremely quickly with great communication in between.
DistanceLearningCentre.com enabled me, as a young mum suffering with severe health complications, to continue my education path and to one day achieve my dream of becoming a midwife. I am happy to say I have been accepted unconditionally to study midwifery at university thanks to DistanceLearningCentre.com. (Nov 2020) Award of Achievement Nominee
Although I studied on my own, I never felt alone - Jennie Game
My ambition to become a midwife led me to DistanceLearningCentre.com, as I didn't have any GCSE or A-Level qualifications to apply to University.
I chose to enrol on the Access to HE Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery first, as I wanted to give myself enough time to focus on achieving the high standard of grades required for my chosen universities. I was able to fit my studies in around working part time and looking after my two very young children. I really appreciated the flexibility of being able to study at a time that suited me and not have to be in a certain place at a certain time.
Although I studied on my own, I never felt alone. My tutors were always quick to respond to any emails or for a phone call to answer any questions I had; the support was fantastic. There is also an active Facebook group which is helpful for connecting with other students.
I really enjoyed the course and am now about to enrol on the Level 2 Functional Skills through DistanceLearningCentre.com, and will be confident in my application when I apply to university in September. (Nov 2020)
The feedback from my tutors has been invaluable and I would not hesitate to recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com to others who are thinking of studying this way - Julie Whitham
I have thought about a career in the health service for many years but never had the opportunity due to family commitments. My daughter is in her final year at university where she is studying to be a paramedic and watching her progress prompted me into action!
I didn't have the necessary qualifications to apply to university and looked into Access to HE courses. Being eager to start I did not want to wait until September to start college so looked into distance learning.
I chose DistanceLearningCentre.com after looking at various reviews and I was glad I did. I have been able to work at my own pace and after a slow start, I soon got to grips with the level of studying needed.
The feedback from my tutors has been invaluable and I would not hesitate to recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com to others who are thinking of studying this way. (Nov 2020)
As a stay at home mum with young children, being able to study from home at my own pace was really beneficial - Kirsty Laird
As a mature student I thought my dream of becoming a midwife wouldn't be possible, as my local colleges didn't offer courses for all of the qualifications I needed. I then found the DistanceLearningCentre.com and enrolled on the Access to Higher Education Diploma for Midwifery (Allied Health Professionals) which would give me the biology and literary subject (Psychology) qualifications required for my chosen university.
As a stay at home mum with young children, being able to study from home at my own pace was really beneficial, especially during a global pandemic. The course materials are well presented and very in-depth which ensured I completed the assessments to a high standard; achieving 36 Distinctions and 9 Merits. The support and advice I received from my tutors throughout was second to none and they always answered my questions quickly.
Studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com has not only given me the qualifications I need for university, but it has also helped me regain confidence in myself and my ability to achieve a career in midwifery. (Nov 2020)
What I valued the most is that I could work at my own pace and fit study around other commitments - Mayada Oldenburg
I highly recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com if you are thinking of getting the qualifications needed to get into higher education.
What I valued the most is that I could work at my own pace and fit study around other commitments. The support from knowledgeable and really friendly tutors was helpful and very encouraging.
My dream was Paramedic studies, but I dropped out of school 18 years ago, and I had been working in manual trades since then. I was worried that I would struggle with the structure of formal education. I needn't have worried: the course is designed with people like me in mind! Its thoughtful structure, especially for the first few units, really helped ease me back into learning and academic work. There is plenty of advice and encouragement available from tutors. The requirements are really well laid out, so you're never left guessing what's expected of you. The learning materials are clear and packed with pointers to additional resources.
I completed the course in 6 months, which took me a near full-time commitment, I'd say 80%. Of course, every learner and every life is different. With tenacity and good organisation, everything is doable - and so worthwhile! I feel that, as well as the qualification, what I got out of the DistanceLearningCentre.com course was a lot of confidence in my ability to deal with new situations and new theoretical content. I feel more than well prepared for university now. Self-directed study, initiative and problem solving? Sure - I know how to do it now!
I made it into university and have just started paramedic training this week - dream come true! Thanks to the tutors and staff at DistanceLearningCentre.com for helping make this happen. (Nov 2020)
