During lockdown, I spotted DistanceLearningCentre.com online and thought "This is my chance" - Ashleigh Jordan
I have always been academically minded, but I unfortunately left school with poor A-level results. I ended up working basic admin jobs while always wanting to go to university.
During lockdown, I spotted DistanceLearningCentre.com online and thought "This is my chance". I was a little apprehensive at first as I have been out of education for a few years, but studying online enabled me to continue working and gave me a second chance at going to university.
I chose to study Science (Option 1) and found the tutors to be very supportive and willing to help with any problems I had. I have now been accepted into all of my UCAS choices and will be attending university to study biomedical science.
I am so grateful to DistanceLearningCentre.com for allowing me to achieve my goals and I strongly recommend anybody wishing to gain accredited qualifications, that work around daily life, to study with them. (July 2021)
I now feel I am in a far better position after learning with DistanceLearningCentre.com - Sean Howells
Before starting this course, I had recently left the Royal Navy after 12 years. I was 38 at the start of the Access to Law Option 1 course. Unfortunately, I could never find the time to study while I had been serving due to the constantly hectic program. I decided to learn with the DistanceLearningCentre.com after stumbling across the website while browsing at different providers. I had found a wide range of exciting courses to choose from and after reading some of the testimonials, I decided to take the plunge and start learning.
I plan to study at The Open University. Although the OU requires no academic qualifications, I decided to take the correct route anyway and prove that I could study at level 3 before studying at a higher level. During the modules, I developed my research methods and even my basic English. I am now far more confident in seeking out information and finding pros and cons with every theory. I had enjoyed all my modules, especially Law and Criminal Law in particular. Some modules I found challenging, especially the further and further the course progressed.
Still, with the help from the DistanceLearningCentre.com materials, which were easy to follow, the advice I received from others using the provider's Facebook page and my personal tutor, who was always so quick to answer any questions, I overcame these challenges and achieved my end goal of becoming adequately qualified to attend a degree course which I completed in 7 months. I now feel I am in a far better position after learning with DistanceLearningCentre.com. I am currently enrolled on an LLB Qualifying Law degree with the OU. (July 2021)
I thought it would be difficult to find time to study, but the course was structured really well and I was able to study when it suited me - Hayley Fell
For the past 10 years I have worked as a makeup artist but always dreamed of training to become a nurse, with two young daughters I thought I would never be able to find the time to achieve this. Thankfully, I came across DistanceLearningCentre.com, and with the support and guidance of my wonderful tutors I began an Access to HE Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery and found the right university for me. As I work full time and have children, I thought it would be difficult to find time to study, but the course was structured really well and I was able to study when it suited me.
It had been over ten years since I left school and I was nervous to study again, but my tutors were patient, helpful and always available should I have any questions. The website was easy to use and the learning materials and extra learning resources were incredibly informative. My tutors had excellent knowledge and were able to guide me through any areas I struggled with. I completed my diploma with 15 Merits and 30 Distinctions, my first-choice university offered me a place and I begin my Adult Nursing degree in September.
To anyone thinking of pursuing a new career, just go for it! I highly recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com and can say with confidence that studying with them is one of the best decisions I have made. (July 2021)
My advice to anyone would be to not give up and to remember that after every storm there is a beautiful rainbow - Tom Spence
Hi, my name is Tom I have recently successively completed a Diploma in Paramedic Science with DistanceLearningCentre.com. Unfortunately, in 2020 I was made redundant from a major UK airline after a successful career within the airline industry of 15 years. As you can imagine it was a difficult time for me as I didn't really know where to turn to or even how to refocus myself. Like many others, losing a job, especially during the Covid pandemic, wasn't easy.
I am thrilled to say that I passed the Diploma with flying colours and this is all thanks to the support I received from DistanceLearningCentre.com. I am now working for a private ambulance company and I'm using all of the knowledge that I've learnt and gained to help me within my daily work. Thank you!
Despite having more dark days than positive, I was motivated enough with the support of the DistanceLearningCentre.com staff to really focus myself and get those scores to enable me to better myself and start a successful career within the healthcare profession. My advice to anyone would be to not give up and to remember that after every storm there is a beautiful rainbow. (July 2021) Award of Achievement Nominee
It is hard work, but so worth it, and your tutors are with you every step of the way - Victoria Porter
I cannot recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com more highly and am actually sad my learning with them has come to an end. Whilst bringing up my children and with a husband who travels a lot, I did a variety of work to fit in around the family. But I always felt when the time was right, I would want to re-train for a new and fulfilling career.
My aim was Allied Healthcare and after using 'profiling software' and taking career advice, everything pointed to one particular role … but it required a degree. I am an ex-dancer, so at school-leaving age I went straight into training, auditions and work. At first, I thought that without A-levels this new career would be out of reach. Then I realised there was such a thing as an Access to Higher Education Diploma and discovered DistanceLearningCentre.com. After reading reviews like this from other learners, I knew it was the right choice for me.
From day one I found my tutors to be incredibly friendly, supportive and accessible. They encourage independent learning, but are always there to give guidance and answer questions of any kind. The learning materials are brilliant; extremely thorough and logically laid out in topics and sub-topics, so you move smoothly through - one 'chunk' at a time. Along the way you are also provided with things like recommended further reading, links to videos and websites, which all help to 'cement' your knowledge. It is hard work, but so worth it - and your tutors are with you every step of the way.
Thanks to DistanceLearningCentre.com I learnt to study again and gained the qualification needed for higher education. In September, I start a 4-year MSci degree in Speech and Language Therapy at the University of Reading. I turn 50 that same week - never too late - and will join my two daughters, who are full-time university students too! (July 2021)
