Gave me the flexibility to enable me to study whilst working - Kate Homan
Having decided to study a dietetics degree, I needed A-level equivalents in chemistry and biology to gain entry. As I couldn't afford to give up my job while studying for these, I needed a course that would fit around my full time hours. Studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com gave me the flexibility to enable me to study whilst working.
I had been out of education for several years and was worried that I would not be capable of achieving the required grades for university entry (distinctions in chemistry and biology). Furthermore, I suffer from 2 chronic health conditions, both of which significantly impact on my energy levels, and I worried that I would not have the energy to study as well as work.
Once I started on the Access to HE Diploma in Science, my tutors were very helpful and supportive. If I needed a little longer for any of my assignments they were very flexible in extending deadlines. The topics were interesting and easy to understand and I was given sufficient guidance to successfully pass all the modules so much so that I managed to complete the diploma with all distinctions! The lovely reference from one of my tutors helped me to secure interviews for all of my 5 university choices and I am now holding firm and insurance offers at my preferred institutions.
DistanceLearningCentre.com has given me the skills and confidence to pursue a career in dietetics and I am really looking forward to starting university. I would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to gain qualifications for university entry, but who cannot afford to give up work while doing so. It requires hard work and dedication, and at times can be challenging, however, it is definitely worth the effort! (Jun 2017)
There is an affordable payment plan and an unlimited amount of support available - Jodie Perriam
From day one tutors at DistanceLearningCentre.com were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, helping me with the UCAS Application, using TurnItIn and any course-related question under the sun. Answers were always sent promptly and further communication is always encouraged. I believe the more you communicate with your tutor ? the better your mark and this was certainly the case for me. Feedback sheets were informative and detailed, which really helped with the next assessment or exam by pinpointing areas for improvement.
My course was not a walk in the park. You needed to be dedicated and willing to make sacrifices. Personally, as I worked full time, I found reducing my hours by half a day at work really helped. It meant I could dedicate that one afternoon to my assessments and exams. Will power and an organised working environment were essential, but so is time for you. Doing this level of work from home and working full time was difficult, so dedicating an hour or two every day to doing something for myself really helped me to stay focussed.
My advice for anybody interested in the Access to HE Diploma: Allied Health Professions course would be to go for it and not procrastinate. It is easy to make excuses: 'I don't have time', 'it's too expensive', 'it's too difficult' but you can make time, there is an affordable payment plan and an unlimited amount of support available (which you are paying for and entitled as much as you need/want to). The time and money you spend on the course is difficult, but temporary. GO FOR IT! (Jun 2017)
I have thoroughly enjoyed my course; it has been really interesting from start to finish - Michael O'Brien
Before I started my Access to HE Diploma (Paramedicine), I had spent my working life in boring Customer Service roles. I went into Recruitment and after being made redundant I took the leap to start this course.
The course was meant to be 12 months long, but through long evenings and weekends, I have been able to achieve my goal of completion inside 6 months.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my course; it has been really interesting from start to finish. My tutors were incredible; so quick with their responses and feeding back any areas that I needed to take a second look at. They always made me feel comfortable, I cannot thank them enough.
I did not attend college when I left school so this is (so far) the highest level of Education I have worked on and I have loved it. I am in the process of applying to a number of Universities to start a Degree and begin the journey of achieving my goal of becoming a Paramedic.
To anyone looking to get on any of these courses, I would highly recommend them. DistanceLearningCentre.com has been amazing and I cannot thank them enough for all their help and support. (Jun 2017)
I now feel confident to take up my place at University - Helen Scott
Fab5 Award Nominee
The most rewarding thing about studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com is that I now feel confident to take up my place at University and study for a career I have wanted to train in for years.
I hadn't been in education for ten years and this was the first distance learning course I had attempted and I was worried about feeling on my own but I needn't have worried! The tutors have been a huge support and have always been available for all my questions; their care and commitment to my success has given me confidence.
The pace and intensity of the study built up gradually and enabled me to get back into the way of studying and writing assignments. I had to fit my studies around family life and with two small boys to look after, I learned how to manage my time so that I could meet my targets, this is a skill I will take with me to University. My tutors were with me throughout the UCAS application and with their support, I was offered both my first and second choice places to study Midwifery.
If you had told me just over a year ago that I would be ordering my student midwife's uniform, I don't think I would have believed you, it seemed such an impossible goal to reach, but gradually, one step at a time, and with a lot of help that is exactly what I have just done. (Jun 2017)
The support is excellent; you are never left on your own to figure things out - Rebecca Giddings
Fab5 Award Nominee
I came to DistanceLearningCentre.com as I wanted to completely change the area which all my education was in; I hadn't actually done any science related studying since school over 20 years ago.
DistanceLearningCentre.com was excellent; the setting up of the Access Diploma was incredibly quick and easy and, as with any new challenge, I was keen to crack on. The course itself started very quickly once the enrolment was complete and was very interesting and set out in a way that was easy to understand.
The support of the tutors is excellent and they always check in to make sure you are ok. You are never left on your own to figure things out. The tutors were lovely, easy to get on with and very knowledgeable of their subjects. I have already been recommending DistanceLearningCentre.com to my friends and family and at least one other person is doing a course with them because of my recommendations.
Due to a genetic illness and spending time in hospital during my Access to HE Diploma (Biomedical Science) most of my work was typed up 1 handed, because my arm was in a sling, or from my bed or a hospital bed due to my illness. My tutors were fabulous at helping me fit in work around my operations and juggling deadlines when needed. Because of this course I now have a place at University to continue studying biomedical science on a part-time basis. (Jun 2017)
