I have achieved something I have wanted for a very long time - Cecilia Reeves-Smith

I started the Access to HE Midwifery diploma with DistanceLearningCentre.com thanks to a recommendation from a colleague who had gained a place at University after completing the course herself. I was already working full time as a maternity support worker and wanted to progress to train as a midwife, but the University needed evidence of recent study, and it was 20 years since I took my A-levels. It wasn't easy fitting studying around working full time and parenting, but I managed it thanks to a combination of determination, my supportive family, and my DistanceLearningCentre.com tutors, who were excellent at delivering just the right amount of help and encouragement when I needed it.

I was offered a place to study BSc (hons) midwifery at the University of West London, and at the 'meet and greet' I was given a list of anatomy and physiology topics which we were expected to know about before the start of the course. Every topic had been covered on the DistanceLearningCentre.com Diploma, so all that was required for me was some revision. I was over the moon! Now I'm really looking forward to starting the course, and becoming a qualified midwife in 3 years' time. I would recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com to anyone looking to fit their studies around work and, thanks to their course and supportive tutors, I have achieved something I have wanted for a very long time. My tutors were all so supportive and the sense of achievement I felt was incredible! - Lisa Gumbrill

Fab5 Award Nominee

I was working as a commercial manager for a huge company and to my shock was made redundant just a few months before I was due to give birth. Going into motherhood with career uncertainty, I took the time away from the office to decide what my next move would be. I decided that I would follow a dream of mine to become a dietician and, seeing as I failed my science GCSE in school, I had to start from the beginning by doing my GCSE and then an Access to HE Diploma. My dream however was halted when I began to suffer from post-natal depression and unaware of what was happening to me, I plodded on for a couple of years until I finally got help.

Once well and back to normal, I began my studies with DistanceLearningCentre.com in September 2015 when my daughter had just turned 3. I signed up in 2015 and off I went, sceptical as to whether I could even pass the courses to enable me entry to university. My studies were going amazingly, each subject I opened left me with the feeling of 'how on earth am I going to do this?', but my tutors were all so supportive and the sense of achievement I felt, when the distinctions kept coming in, was incredible!

Me and my partner had always wanted to have a second child, so with everything going so well and with only a couple of months left to go we made our move, and to our joy and surprise we fell pregnant immediately. After an uncomplicated first pregnancy, with my second pregnancy things were tough. I was feeling absolutely horrendous and trying to continue normal home and work life, my studies were affected. It took everything I had to finish this course and at every single turn I thought I would fail. After explaining this all to my tutors they were so supportive and very patient with my ever-worsening baby brain!

I now have another beautiful baby girl, an A* science GCSE and passed my Access to HE Diploma with mainly distinctions and am excited for my next adventure to university in 2018. Thank you, DistanceLearningCentre.com!! (Nov 2016)

After being out of education for 30 years, I felt anxious about the transition back into studying. I began wondering if I would ever succeed in finding the path to my lifelong ambition! I researched distance learning courses and came across DistanceLearningCentre.com. The availability of courses was incredible and the process of enrolling was straight forward. I began studying the Access to Allied Health Professions and at my age I won't pretend it was easy.

The support given from tutors was amazing; emails were answered promptly and feedback was always constructive. My journey provided me with management, organisational and academic skills, all of which will equip to help me to succeed at University.

DistanceLearningCentre.com gave me the ability to study at my own pace and plan around my busy lifestyle. As a full-time carer to my both my in-laws, a mother of four children and wife to my husband who worked away for weeks at a time, it was hard and at times I felt defeated! My words to you are, DON'T GIVE UP!! Doing what you want to do is achievable!!

I would certainly recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com to anyone else that wants to further their careers. The quality of all the tutors has exceeded my expectations. Not forgetting the Forums and Facebook (Official) Page where you will find a tutor or peer-to-peer support offering help and advice, I will continue to offer my support.

Go on - do it, take the leap, grasp that career that you've always imagined yourself doing! I did, and here I am today holding an offer from The University of Chester for the degree in Forensic Psychology. Thank you to DistanceLearningCentre.com! (Nov 2016)

Always there to guide me through difficult subjects - Francesca Stupiak

As a massage therapist I wanted to learn and expand my knowledge on anatomy and physiology so I could grow in the field and possibly aim towards physiotherapy. I have always had a passion for science so the Access to HE Diploma for Allied Health Professions was enjoyable to do and fairly quick to achieve.

I learnt so much on this course just by teaching myself and with the help of friendly tutors who were always there to guide me through difficult subjects. Although I have not used my course specifically for entering University as I had originally planned, I have more confidence in my work which has helped me achieve enormously and I have received interviews in pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies for degree apprenticeships. All in all it has been worth my time to do the course and it feels like a great achievement to be proud of. (Nov 2016)

I'm a personal trainer and class instructor and have been for past 7 years. I wanted to advance my career into Physiotherapy but didn't have the credits needed for UCAS.

DistanceLearningCentre.com gave me the chance to complete my Access to HE Science Diploma in the time frame I wanted.

The tutors have been available and supportive whenever I have needed help and thanks to DistanceLearningCentre.com I have been offered an MSc Physiotherapy (pre-registration) place at Sheffield Hallam University. I have been given the confidence to go out and succeed in my new career. (Nov 2016)
