Has helped me realise that I can still handle the academic pressure as a mature student - Anjali Kale

My decision to change career path from Stage Management and Sound Engineering to becoming a Dental Hygienist was a big one to say the least! From deciding to take on this amazing journey a couple of years ago, to securing a place at my first choice institution has been nothing short of a dream come true. I gave myself a two year goal to reach all the academic requirements to apply for the Dental Hygiene Programme at the Eastman Dental Hospital; this included the Access to HE Science Diploma, all while working full time!

I had never heard of the Access to Science Diploma and had no idea it could all be done online until I came across DistanceLearningCentre.com. I had a good look around the website before making my enquiry, and took the plunge the same day as I found it was exactly what I was looking for and at an affordable price too! For me, this route was necessary in order to get me back into the mode of study, and has also helped me realise that I can still handle the academic pressure as a mature student. I found the tutors to be extremely supportive and encouraging, the materials were excellent and assessments were easy to follow and complete, and the student forum was there for reassurance. I was able to complete the necessary credits to merit and distinction levels, which meant that my first choice offered me a place before I had even completed the course! I have no hesitation in recommending DistanceLearningCentre.com to anyone and everyone I know.

Thank you DistanceLearningCentre.com and a huge thank you for propelling me towards my dream! (Nov 2016)

Firstly, I cannot praise DistanceLearningCentre.com and my tutors enough. I completed an Access to Higher Education Diploma in Allied Health Professions and finished with mostly distinctions. As a young, full time mum to two young children I was dubious to begin an online access course, I worried I wouldn't have the time or knowledge to complete it to good standards and was very doubtful of my own ability.

The welcome phone call I received from my tutor soon put my mind at ease; my tutor helped to check my chosen universities requirements, explained the course thoroughly, helped me pick the best option according to the qualifications I already held and more importantly was very friendly and reassuring! With the constant support and availability of my tutors I managed to achieve distinctions, and after being out of education for a while I cannot tell you the buzz and sense of achievement I felt every time I had a marked assignment back. The constructive feedback helped motivate me to keep improving and my confidence went up significantly.

Fast forward to the end of my course and I received lots of support through my university applications, leading to interview offers from all four of my chosen universities. After having an interview with my first choice university, they rang me that same evening to offer me a place on their course, and I begin my Social Work degree in September 2017!

I cannot believe how much I have achieved, and honestly don't believe I could have done it without DistanceLearningCentre.com and my fantastic tutors! I would recommend them to everyone; if you are ready to start a new chapter this is definitely the place to begin! (Nov 2016)

There was always someone on hand in the forum or on the Facebook page to lend a hand - Deborah Runnalls

For years I've had that feeling that I'm just not in the career I am meant to be. So taking a break, whilst having my children, gave me time to really think about and pursue my dream of becoming a nurse.

I knew I needed to complete, not only an Access to Higher Education Diploma but also a progression award in Maths, so I started researching the various ways of accomplishing this. Should I attend a college or should I try and go it alone by doing it via distance learning? I had been out of education for almost 20 years so was worried that I wouldn't have a clue where to start however, I decided that as I had a 10 week old baby and a 3 year old, home based learning was going to be a more achievable route and came across DistanceLearningCentre.com.

I needn't have been worried that I was 'going it alone' though; the support I received from tutors and fellow students was second to none. There was always someone on hand in the forum or on the Facebook page to lend a hand and the turnaround in work being marked was excellent as was the constructive feedback.

It does require a large amount of discipline to study at home and I really did put in the hours but it was worth every single one of those hours! I completed the progression award and the Access to Higher Education Diploma (Allied Health Professions) in less than year with a full complement of distinctions and as such I have been nominated for a Fab5 Award.

This has led to me being offered an unconditional place at the University of Bedfordshire to study Adult Nursing in Sept 2017 - I can't wait! (Nov 2016)

As a child I always knew I wanted to be either a nurse or a midwife, but as the years passed me by and I reached my forties as a single mum with a part time job, I didn't think I'd ever get to pursue my dream. However, I decided to contact my local university and ask them what I needed in order to apply for a degree. Being told I needed UCAS points crushed my dreams once more ? I hadn't been in education for over 25 years and couldn't think about giving up work in order to take a two-year A-level course. That's when I discovered DistanceLearningCentre.com.

After speaking to them and then to the university I discovered I could take an Access to Higher Education diploma, via distance learning, which would take me one year and I could carry on with my work at the same time.

I decided to take the bull by the horns and apply and I haven't looked back since! With the help of my excellent tutors I completed my course obtaining 45 credits at distinction; I applied to university for both midwifery and adult nursing and was offered a place to take a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing starting February 2017. I am now seven weeks into my course and I absolutely love it. I cannot thank DistanceLearningCentre.com enough, without them I wouldn't be where I am now, finally pursing my dream. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my friends and family; they supported and encouraged me throughout my course, providing me with an excellent knowledge base in order to commence my degree with a confidence I didn't think I had. DistanceLearningCentre.com was a great way for me to do my Access to Nursing and continue working at the same time. Always there if I was struggling, they understood that I was working and studying and always supported my learning needs.

I am now in university studying Adult Nursing which I could not have done without the Access to HE diploma! The skills and knowledge I gained from the course has been invaluable and given me fantastic grounding for my degree. Doing this course has given me a great advantage with my degree and without it I think I would have really struggled and felt out of my depth. I am very thankful to DistanceLearningCentre.com and my tutors, I would not be in university without them and I have learnt a lot! (Nov 2016)
