Allowed me to pay affordable monthly payments and I could still work - Natasha Bellamy
Before the access course I had attempted A-levels and two BTECS at college but I lacked the motivation as I didn't know what I wanted to do, as a result I didn't finish any of them.
So I entered the world of work where I found myself as a payroll administrator for the NHS, I quickly realised that office work was not for me. I began exploring the idea of college again but wasn't sure how I would fund it and at the same time there was a lot of media coverage regarding mental health and Stephen Fry was a big character behind the time to change movement.
I then discovered mental health nursing and I knew this was the right career for me, my job wouldn't allow me to go part-time and attend college so I was disheartened, but then I found DistanceLearningCentre.com who would allow me to pay affordable monthly payments and I could still work!
Just over a year later I have now finished my access to Nursing, Midwifery and Health Professions course and have secured a place at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge to study mental health nursing and I couldn't be happier! Thank you to all my tutors for their ongoing and fantastic support - I couldn't have done it without you! (Jun 15)
The only option that allowed me to study alongside employment and family commitments - Jayde Potter
Fab5 Award Nominee
After 5 years of just dreaming of becoming a Midwife, being stuck in a job I didn't like and thinking it was impossible due to a 60 hour a week job, have a 2 year old and pursue a dream career, I took the decision to study with DistanceLearningCentre.com.
DistanceLearningCentre.com was the only option that allowed me to study alongside employment and family commitments. After 7 years out of study, I found some aspects of the course a challenge but the reading materials, tutorials and flexibility and commitment shown by tutors helped me to achieve the grades needed to go to University. I couldn't have done any of this without DistanceLearningCentre.com and I couldn't be happier! (Jun 15)
A big thank you for helping me achieve my dream - Clare Sawyer
I have always had a passion for nursing and currently work as a care assistant in the community supporting clients suffering with dementia.
DistanceLearningCentre.com allowed me to complete my work when it best suited my lifestyle. For the first half of my course I was travelling around Australia, and the second half I was working full time.
My two tutors were amazing, and supported me completely throughout my studies. I now have the confidence and qualification to go on to do Mental Health Nursing at Swansea University this September 2015. I have recommended DistanceLearningCentre.com to everyone, and want to say a big thank you for helping me achieve my dream! (Jun 15)
The support and encouragement of my fantastic tutors enabled me to continue working full time and look after my young family - Terrie Power
Fab5 Award Nominee
In order to pursue a career in midwifery and meet university entry requirements, I needed to gain recent biology studies which would be manageable and affordable. The flexibility of DistanceLearningCentre.com and the support and encouragement of my fantastic tutors enabled me to continue working full time and look after my young family.
Although I found the course challenging at times, I thoroughly enjoyed every subject and looked forward to getting my next assignment. My grades were returned quickly with lots of valuable feedback about how to improve and develop, which was important to me when under pressure of gaining high grades to meet university requirements. This course requires a lot of self-motivation, hard work and is very time consuming but I would highly recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com to help you achieve your goals. (Jun 15)
They are flexible and you can spread the cost of the course - Jules Gray
Starting my access to nursing with DistanceLearningCentre.com was the beginning of my new life. I have worked in care homes for 15 years and I needed to make the change now or I knew I would regret it. DistanceLearningCentre.com seemed the most practical choice to help me gain my entry qualifications as they are flexible and you can spread the cost of the course.
The course itself is hard work and there were many times I said to myself "I cant do this anymore" but with the help of the tutors and pure determination I got through it. I feel such a sense of happiness, I'm so proud of myself. This course took me 2 and a half years to complete because I worked every night until 10pm and I also have 2 small children to look after so I could only study on a weekend.
When I first started the course there were no deadlines for handing in work so I used to take plenty time doing them, but when they introduced the 2 week deadlines this really give me the kick up the butt I needed to get this course finished.
Regardless of how long its taken to complete, I have finally completed the marathon and its the best thing I have ever done. I'm applying to university of Northumbria in September and I can only thank DistanceLearningCentre.com for helping me achieve my goals. Thank you so much. The skills you have given me will help me not only through university but through my life. (Jun 15)
