Lottie Hope - June 2013

At the end of October 2012 I had the biggest shock ever while filling in my UCAS application, when I realised that UCAS no longer accepted my qualifications. I was determined to make the 2013 intake to study midwifery so decided I needed to gain some acceptable qualifications quickly!! DistanceLearningCentre.com was recommended to me by a friend, so I explored what they offered and the next day I enrolled.

I had obviously set myself a huge challenge to complete the whole course in just 7 months, in time for the June moderation dates, and I definitely could not have done this in college. Many people had advised me that this wasn't possible, however I knew with my determination and help from the various tutors I would succeed. Every person I have had involvement with from my first step with DistanceLearningCentre.com has been ever so helpful and encouraging, even though there was no face to face contact. I was offered weekly phone calls and my tutors were always quick to reply by email whatever time of the day it was, whether it was working hours or 11 o'clock at night!!

The course itself (Access to Nursing and Midwifery) has been a joy to complete. With the new materials and marking criteria, I found my way around easily and would recommend this way of learning to anyone, in fact I already have! I found it all really interesting and it was a godsend really that I did complete the access course, as I would have been completely oblivious to all the science aspects in September.

Currently, I have a conditional offer for Salford University to study Midwifery and I am currently waiting to pass my occupational health tests. Advice for anyone debating this route? It's an absolute MUST, and I'm genuinely going to be sad that it's all over!! Thank you DistanceLearningCentre.com for making my dreams come true, I am unconditionally grateful to every single one of you!!

I wanted to fulfil my lifelong ambition of becoming a midwife and to do this at my preferred university I had to show evidence of study within the last five years. Being a mum and having two part time jobs doesn't give me much time to go to college, so DistanceLearningCentre.com was the perfect choice.

After worrying about how DistanceLearningCentre.com would work and if it would be right for me, I was amazed at how assessable the tutors were. Any questions I had were fully answered by email, a phone call or Skype. The tutors want you to do well and they show great enthusiasm for their specialized subject, I can't praise them enough for all the encouragement they gave me.

I set myself a year to complete the Access course and by setting my own targets dates I could be flexible in these, which really works for a person who doesn't like deadlines! The course content is interesting and covers a wide range of topics, from demonstrating your essay skills to filling out a UCAS form. The materials are online to aid you in all your subjects and are easy to understand.

At the end of the course I achieved the University's entry requirements and have been offered a place to start Midwifery in September 2013. I sincerely recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com to anyone wanting a pathway into University. The DistanceLearningCentre.com tutors made me realise what I can achieve, thank you!

When I found out about DistanceLearningCentre.com I was immediately intrigued because it could fit around other commitments and I would study from home. Since then I had moved back to my mums to fully concentrate on the course. It is best to start as early as possible, however I enrolled at the start of October.

The course is challenging and there is a lot to learn, so most of my time was dedicated to the course; however the coursework eases you back into learning. On completion of the course it felt extremely rewarding and I am so glad I decided to go down this path. The learning format is well structured and the tutors and very friendly and professional; helping every step of the way.

Overall I would highly recommend studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com if you want to take the leap of going back into education and you know what you want to do.

Due to my lack of A levels I would never have been able to enrol on a university course in midwifery and therefore, when searching for an Access course I came across DistanceLearningCentre.com. After reading about what DistanceLearningCentre.com had to offer and the statements in the hall of fame, I decided that this would be perfect for me.

I was able to study at my own pace, in my time and without the added pressure of deadlines. I found that my tutors were both very helpful and replied to emails in a quick and informative manner. I also had the chance to speak to them on a weekly basis via the telephone.

Overall I found that studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com was a brilliant route to go down in obtaining my qualifications and would highly recommend them to anyone looking into studying an Access course.

I am 31 years old and for over 11 years I have worked in the care sector with adults with learning and mental health issues. I really enjoy my current job and it is very rewarding, however it was always a dream of mine to become a midwife.

Due to personal circumstances and full time work commitments I found it difficult to work towards becoming a midwife in the past as many access courses within colleges didn't fit into my life. I came across DistanceLearningCentre.com online and it was perfect for me to still work full time and study the access to health professions course around my family. It was hard work, working full time and being a single mum but I was committed to achieving the qualifications I needed to apply to Uni. The support I received from the tutors was always encouraging and spurred me on when I found things difficult.
