Its been whirlwind year for me deciding to completely change my life by following my dream of becoming a midwife. Unfortunately I could not afford to give up my day job to attend college, and my job was not flexible enough so I almost gave up, until I found DistanceLearningCentre.com! I found about DistanceLearningCentre.com through an internet forum for student midwifes and it seemed so perfect that I signed up straight away! I was not disappointed ? although it has been very hard work I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges it has brought and the support I received from my tutor has been second to none!
I have been accepted to study a degree in midwifery starting in September at the University of Bradford ? and I couldn't be happier! DistanceLearningCentre.com really helps dreams come true! It's fitted in with my life and many of my friends who chose the college route now wish they had known about this course instead as it gives so much more flexibility!

I started the DistanceLearningCentre.com Access to Higher Education Diploma in November 2009 as I wanted to apply for midwifery. I had been a stay-at-home mum for 4 years but I knew that when my children went to school I would want a career again. I still wanted to be at home with my children so didn't want to do an access course that was college based so DistanceLearningCentre.com seemed perfect for me.
I had been out of education for 10 years so it took me a while to get back into sitting down and studying, but with great support, guidance and patience from my tutor I slowly began to make my way through the assignments. I finally completed the course in June 2011 and have been offered places at both Salford and Chester university to study midwifery in September 2011.
The best thing about the DistanceLearningCentre.com course is that it is flexible. I worked in my own time, starting and completing assignments in a time frame that suited me and my lifestyle. The tutor support is really wonderful, my tutor called me each week and responded very quickly to any email queries. Without DistanceLearningCentre.com I would not be in the position I am in; ready and waiting to start midwifery training!

Taking the Access to Midwifery has given me an enormous confidence boost as well as the achievement of a prerequisite for entry to university. I started the course when my daughter was five months old, and my son was 2 and loved being able to fit the course work around my young family. With the help of my brilliantly supportive tutor, I managed to complete the course in 10 months (with a month off to visit family in Australia).
The course is challenging but perfectly achievable. My tutor helped me plan my time effectively and was always on hand to answer questions and offer encouragement. On reflection I think prospective universities and employers will be impressed with the self-motivation I have demonstrated though completing this distance learning course. Thank you very much to DistanceLearningCentre.com for a great experience and for helping me strengthen my chances of being accepted onto a midwifery degree course.

After liaising with my local college regarding the timetable for completing the Access Course to Midwifery, Nursing and Health Professionals, disappointedly, I knew that it was not an option for me. I work part-time and have two young children; the timetable did not fit in with my family life. I searched on the internet and found DistanceLearningCentre.com, It answered all my prayers as it fitted in perfectly with my lifestyle and gave me the opportunity to study at my own pace and convenience.
The course materials have been easy to follow and well written, I have found the modules extremely informative and enjoyable. I can honestly say I have not looked back since. The support I received from my tutor has been incredible; he has been very supportive and has felt more like a friend than a tutor. My confidence has grown immensely since completing the course, the hard work has paid off, and the grades have been rewarding.
I am proud that I have achieved a recognised qualification, and I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life. The course has been a great experience and I would definitely recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com to others. Thank you to all the staff at DistanceLearningCentre.com, in particular to my tutor. Without your help and support I would not have got this far.

I decided in September 2010 that I needed to follow my dream of becoming a Nurse before it was too late, and joined DistanceLearningCentre.com as it was the best way for me to continue working whilst I studied for my Access to Nursing Course.
I managed to complete the course in 8 months, despite losing my Dad in January and working full time, this was onyl possible due to the invaluable support both from my DistanceLearningCentre.com tutor and my family, Pete my husband and my twin girls Rachel and Laura. Without them I would not have made it.
I am very proud of what I have achieved and gained good results along the way, amazing myself at times. Now I am eager to put everything I have learned into practice. Although I am a little nervous about such a major career change at 44 years old, I am looking forward to starting my Adult Nursing Degree in September. So it's never too late to follow your dreams. Thank you DistanceLearningCentre.com.
