This course helped me to gain enough UCAS points to pursue my career in physiotherapy. I have gained foundational knowledge and developed my academic writing, research and independent learning skills to help me prepare for the university course. The tutors were supportive, friendly and accommodating.

DistanceLearningCentre.com didn't simply provide me with a course; it gave me a pathway to a future I had once feared was out of reach - Lauren Gladwell

When I finished my A Levels, I didn't achieve the grades I needed to go to university. At the time, everything felt uncertain, and I questioned whether I was going to be able to pursue my ambition of becoming a nurse. What I did know, however, was that I was passionate about helping people and determined to find another way forward. That determination led me to DistanceLearningCentre.com and the Paramedic Science course.

Enrolling on the course gave me a second chance at something I had thought was no longer possible. While studying, I worked full-time as a community carer, balancing long working hours with the demands of academic study. There were times when it felt overwhelming. Juggling work, assignments, and personal responsibilities was incredibly challenging, and there were moments when it felt impossible.

What kept me going was the support I received from my tutors. It was invaluable. They consistently encouraged me, provided constructive feedback that helped me improve, and showed genuine understanding of my circumstances. Their belief in my potential often gave me the confidence I needed to keep moving forward. With every assignment I completed and obstacle in life I overcame, I moved one step closer to my goal. DistanceLearningCentre.com didn't simply provide me with a course; it gave me a pathway to a future I had once feared was out of reach. The flexibility of online learning allowed me to continue working while pursuing my ambitions, making higher education accessible at a time when traditional routes were not an option for me.

Today, I am proud to be in my first year of nursing studies. This achievement would not have been possible without the opportunity and support that DistanceLearningCentre.com gave me. This course equipped me with knowledge and skills that I have carried with me into my nursing degree, laying an incredibly strong foundation for the healthcare career I have always aspired to have. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity I was given, and looking back, I wouldn’t change how my journey unfolded.

A little bit about me. I'm Laura, and I joined DistanceLearningCentre.com in 2021 for my Access to Higher Education Diploma (Science). Since joining, I have moved house, renovated twice, got married, and I became a mum. I progressed from dental nursing to become a dental tutor, and I am still aiming high, to go to university to work towards becoming a hygiene therapist. This course is a stepping stone for my next ambition. It has been very flexible, with great tutors, weekly support and the ability to extend my course to accommodate such a busy lifestyle. No matter how many curve balls life throws at you, keep going, onwards and upwards! Thanks, DistanceLearningCentre.com, for all your support with getting me to the next step.

The course has already gotten me exactly where I wanted to be - Lola Mai-Wellington

After being a homemaker for the past 14 years due to raising my children and managing ill health, I was ready to start looking toward the future and building a career for myself. I decided to enrol in the Access to Higher Education Diploma (Social Science).

My plan originally was to use this diploma to open up my university options, as I only had GCSEs, with the goal of becoming a Behavioural Investigative Adviser (BIA).

Whilst I have been studying, an opportunity came up for a Police Staff Investigator role within my local force. Being able to add this course to my CV made a difference, and I got the job. I am currently just waiting on my intake date. Because of this, I’ve decided to put university on hold for now, as the course has already gotten me exactly where I wanted to be, and hopefully I can complete a top-up degree alongside my work.

I couldn't have done it without my tutor, who has been really attentive, helpful, and clearly genuinely interested in the course materials. His support has made a world of difference.

My access course has now given me the opportunity to apply for my dream course - Hannah Schofield

I started studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com whilst serving full-time in the armed forces. I fit in my studies around my job and my young son, which at times has felt challenging but manageable thanks to the support of my tutors. I spent most of my time studying in the evenings after work and after my son had gone to bed. I chose to pursue this course as I didn’t have the UCAS points to apply for a university place to study Midwifery. My access course has now given me the opportunity to apply for my dream course.
