Being a mature student, completing the diploma has given me the confidence I needed - Rob Gibbs
I started my access diploma with the aim of gaining the necessary qualification to go on and study physiotherapy. I'm pleased to say that I have now completed the course and have a place at a very good university.
Being a mature student, I was not sure how I would manage going back into studies after many years away. Completing the diploma has given me the confidence I needed. My tutors were helpful and supportive and guided me very well through the course.
Thank you very much DistanceLearningCentre.com! (Jun 2018)
You quickly learn how to manage and adapt your time efficiently and to motivate yourself - Izzie Mills
I'd always wanted to go to university but was faced with many different obstacles. After missing out on grades I'd needed at A-Level, I was close to giving up my dream of ever studying at university and becoming a lawyer.
DistanceLearningCentre.com allowed me to grow in my confidence. The flexibility of the course allowed me to juggle between looking after my Grandfather, working as a care assistant, my studies and of course, living my life. It certainly wasn't easy, but you quickly learn how to manage and adapt your time efficiently and to motivate yourself around an already busy life.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com. The tutors are incredibly and immensely helpful and supportive if you need assistance. I've gained a place at a top Russell Group University to study Law LLB and I couldn't be prouder of myself. Hard work really does pay off, thank you DistanceLearningCentre.com! (Jun 2018)
Seen as an incredibly positive qualification by employers, it also demonstrates your work ethic and commitment to professional development - Sam Stott
Having failed to meet the entry requirements for a BSc in Physiotherapy and not being accepted into a foundation degree in Healthcare Professionals, I decided to search for Access courses. During my search I come across DistanceLearningCentre.com. Initially I was sceptical of how one can achieve the entry requirements for university within a year, but after enrolling, I soon understood the effort I had to apply.
The skills I acquired from the learning materials and tutors are immeasurable, from time-management to academic writing, every requirement of higher education has been neatly wrapped up into one package.
The diploma even helped me before completion; I managed to secure a position as a Physiotherapy Assistant, with the Access to HE Diploma being the hottest topic within my interviews. Not only is it seen as an incredibly positive qualification by employers, it also demonstrates your work ethic and commitment to professional development before you set foot in the room.
My tutors were beyond helpful; my appreciation for all of there time, effort and patience does not equate to the support they provided me with. My tutor scrutinised my UCAS application and provided a supportive academic reference, improving my chances for a successful application.
What I am most truly thankful for is the collective service which enabled me to gain my offer for University studying what I set out to, Physiotherapy. (Jun 2018)
There was always someone to help and very understanding of my personal situation - Violet Mukungu
Having been out of education for a long time, I was sceptical in achieving the grades I needed to be accepted on a social work course, that suddenly changed when a friend recommended DistanceLearningCentre.com.
I have to say I wouldn't have been able to perform as well as I did, if it wasn't for the support and guidance I received from my tutors. There was always someone to help and very understanding of my personal situation. I will forever be grateful for that. (Jun 2018)
Good luck to new students and have the self belief to follow your dreams - Rachel Moles
I discovered DistanceLearningCentre.com when I was researching home learning and to incorporate my career change dream of becoming a midwife.
As a mature student I had many concerns and doubts regarding my ability to complete the online learning due to my age and how long it had been since school/college. I started the Higher Education Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery at the same time I started a new job, working as a full time receptionist in my local NHS Hospital A&E department.
I enjoyed the diploma course syllabus and also getting back into learning and improving my knowledge in key areas relevant to my new career choice. I did struggle at times with some of the assignment deadlines due to my own poor time management due to work pressures, but I remained dedicated and restructured my spare time on my days off or before a shift to devote to my studies. Another struggle was trying to learn and memorise large volumes of information in preparation for exams. As time goes on throughout the course I became better at time management and getting better prepared for exams and submitting assignments to strict deadlines. I'm not going to say I found it easy, far from it, I had times of self doubt and tears thinking I couldn't achieve the learning objectives of the course, but talking with the tutors and reading their positive feedback really helped and reassured me that I was capable of achieving this dream and completing the diploma.
I can finally smile and relax as the final assignment was submitted and had been advised by my tutor I had completed and passed the diploma. I'm awaiting my certificate and getting my final grade. I would highly recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com to anyone, it's never to late to learn and a big thank you to my two patient tutors.
Good luck to new students and have the self belief to follow your dreams, it's totally worth it and remember to give yourself a treat every now and then it helps to stay motivated. My treat was that after the course I paid my first visit to NYC! (Jun 2018)
