Completing my Access to Nursing has given me so much confidence - Ariane Parkin
I have worked in Health and Social care for eight years and have often though about going to University and studying Nursing. Holding me back was the lack of confidence that I had in my academic potential.
Completing my Access to Nursing has given me so much confidence and the qualifications that I need to get into university. I am currently applying for a place in September and it is very exciting!
I found the course fantastic and the tutors are so supportive and helpful. It does take a lot of hard work and dedication to complete your work but once you put the time and effort in it really is worth it. I worked full time while completing this course and it is very achievable if you keep your goal in mind. Thank you DistanceLearningCentre.com! (Nov 15)
I am SO proud of my achievement - Clair Drew
After being made redundant I decided to embark on a change of career and decided that Nursing was the path that I wanted to take. I applied at my local NHS Hospital to work as a Bank Nursing Auxiliary twice in a nine month period and was unsuccessful on both occasions due to not having a 'demonstrable interest' or experience in the profession. I therefore returned to evening college and retook Health and Physiology and Mathematics GCSE's two nights a week over a course of nine months and passed both. I then re-applied and was accepted and have been working in this position since 2011.
After gaining vital experience as a Nursing Auxiliary working within all wards of my local Hospital I felt that I could achieve more and challenge myself further to pursue a career as a qualified adult or children's nurse. I therefore decided to return to studying and complete an Access to Nursing qualification through DistanceLearningCentre.com which would give me the flexibility to continue working and with a small child.
I finished in October 2015 with the full 60 credits, 21 distinctions and 24 merits at level 3 and 15 at level 2 which has given me the entry requirements for University, so I now have some big decisions to make! It has been hard work with a lot of late nights, and sacrifices made but I have been determined from the onset and my Tutors have been extremely supportive with flexibility.
I am SO proud of my achievement and I am proof as a mature student in my 30's with a child and working that anything is possible, if you set your heart and mind on it, just go for it! Turn your dreams into a reality! (Nov 15)
Studying from home meant I didn't require childcare - Sadie Miles
Fab5 Award Nominee
At the start of my course I was a single parent of two, DistanceLearningCentre.com was superb as it is flexible and studying from home meant I didn't require childcare.
I was initially apprehensive about how I would manage, but the telephone calls and email support were just what I needed. I was also allowed time off for the birth of my third child.
Since completing the course I have been accepted into university to do my Mental Health Nursing degree. (Nov 15)
I received excellent guidance when applying to university - Faye Smith
'On top of the world' is the only way to describe my feelings after completing The Access to Nursing Diploma. Leaving school without A-levels imposed limits on future career options. DistanceLearningCentre.com has given me the opportunity to pursue my lifelong nursing ambition, offering flexible study fitting around other commitments.
The friendly, approachable tutors always provided positive support and responded promptly to e-mails with constructive advice. I received excellent guidance while composing my personal statement when applying to university - something that I couldn't have done alone. DistanceLearningCentre.com has instilled me with confidence, courage and have gained the academic skills vital to pursue my nursing career. Don't hesitate choose to study with them. (Nov 15)
It helped me develop many skills and they've got some amazing Tutors - Alwin Rajappan
I really don't know how to thank DistanceLearningCentre.com and their excellent tutors who guided and encouraged me to finish my access course and get a Place in university.
Previously I was a Computer Science student but I wanted to transfer into Nursing and I didn't have right qualifications to apply. So I did Health and Social Care foundation but most universities prefered Access to Nursing and it was very stressful time for me.
Then I heard about DistanceLearningCentre.com, I applied and got a place. Studying with them was amazing, it helped me develop many skills and they've got some amazing Tutors. Without them I would'nt be writing this now so a big thank you.
I had to get both work experience and also academic qualification to apply for nursing and DistanceLearningCentre.com is the right place. I did my studies online and I did work experience in a few places. I had a part time job too. The main thing when studying online is that you have to be self-motivated. There will be help, but if you don't put effort and time and hard work you won't meet your goal.
I passed my Access Course and I got a place at Birmingham City University for Nursing. I am super-excited to start my course. Thank you DistanceLearningCentre.com and my amazing Tutors for making my dream come true. I am now Officially a Nursing Student. I would recommend this 100% to any of my family and friends.?(Nov 15)
