The prospect of studying from home was initially daunting, especially as I hadn't studied anything science related for 10 years or so and it was a completely different style of learning compared to what I had been used to. However the course, with the support and reassurance from my tutors, and the self-confidence and belief they gave me, has opened more doors than I dreamed possible.
I had previously had bad experiences with courses that did not fulfil the requirements I needed for my chosen career path despite being told to the contrary, and therefore was slightly apprehensive when I first enquired about DistanceLearningCentre.com. My experience has, however, been a truly positive one, which I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.
I have faced many challenges in my life; from the sudden bereavement of my mum when I was 19, to other personal problems, yet I have always strived to overcome these challenges and achieve the most I can. I believe it is these obstacles that develop an individual and make them stronger and that, although everyone has their own challenges, I believe that I have been through more than most, yet I will not let this deter me.

It has been always my dream to pursue studying in nursing (Mental health) after caring for a close family member. But the stumbling block was I didn't have enough qualification to go to university. My experience studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com was an experience I undertook with such ease and unexpected flexibility. Having not studied for 30 years, I was completely out of practice with learning and had never undertaken distance learning before, so was initially very sceptical as to whether I would achieve the grades required by University. However, all fears were instantly put aside.
The tutors were incredibly helpful and patient with me. They understood I had 'life' pressures and accommodated my submissions around them. They explained work extremely clearly to me, regularly going 'the extra mile'. I couldn't have asked for better. I had very little free time to study, but all tutor phone calls and homeworks were set around my rare free time.
DistanceLearningCentre.com resources were the best I have ever seen before. Everything was clearly spelt out in the notes they offered which were in an easy-to-read, step-by-step format, making them easy to absorb, including while out and about while I was trying to multi-task with life tasks.
I found out after I had started that university required me to take an additional GCSE, which I had to squeeze in to my Access course study-time. My Psychology tutor was extremely helpful when this time came and allowed me to put Psychology on hold for a few weeks while I studied English as I found it difficult juggling the two subjects together.
Another pleasant surprise I had with DistanceLearningCentre.com is that as well as help with my studies, my tutor spent hours helping me apply to UCAS and wrote them a very detailed reference, overall having spent hours on the phone to me helping me either discussing studies or my UCAS application.
All in all, with an extremely busy personal/work life, I could never have achieved the Distinctions throughout my Access course, not to mention my A* in English Language iGCSE if it wasn't for the dedicated tutors, excellent resources and the flexibility that DistanceLearningCentre.com offers. Juggling with full-time work, 3 small children, family/social life, and study is extremely difficult. Time management, commitment and determination are very essential to be able to succeed.

At 18, I wasn't what you would call 'mature' enough to decide what I would like a career in. Instead, I completed 3 A Levels, which I did not have any interest in and got average grades. Then came the long list of endless soul destroying jobs - on after another like a conveyor belt. Then my friends started finishing their degrees and going into graduate jobs, and it was around this time, being thrown into a corner in a dark office, that I decided that enough was enough - out came Google and the research began!
I always had an interest in Law, but due to my below average A Level results, I thought that was out of reach.
