As an accountant, being made redundant twice in a short space of time, I decided that if I was going to make the career jump to healthcare, now was the time to do it. I ran into all sorts of obstacles: my gcse's were too old, my foundation degree was from a professional body and didn't count ? so if I was going to do it I would have to start from scratch.

I couldn't justify giving up work in order to go to college two days a week to complete a HE diploma that I needed. Happily I found DistanceLearningCentre.com on the internet and everything began to drop into place. Enrolment was straightforward and everyone from tech support to finance was friendly and helpful. The tutors were amazing and managed to motivate me throughout even when the going got tough.

I have always wanted to follow a career in biological research, but did not think it would ever be possible as I did not achieve the required grades at A level. After working in customer service for over 8 years, I could not see how going back in to full time education would ever be possible. After researching different options online, I made the decision to enrol with DistanceLearningCentre.com in October 2014.

The course was extremely flexible and allowed me to study in my spare time, whilst keeping my full time job. My enrolment date meant that I only had 8 months in which to complete the course in time for moderation, however this was possible with the amazing support and patience of all of my tutors.

Thanks to DistanceLearningCentre.com I am now one step closer to achieving my goals, as I have been offered a place at Bath University to study Biology and am looking forward to starting in September. I had wanted to be a midwife for a really long time, but never thought it could be possible because of my poor A Level grades and lack of science knowledge.

I decided to go for it and give DistanceLearningCentre.com a try while I worked abroad and travelled to gain experience. I found it so easy to fit around my schedule and loved that I could complete my work as and when I could with as much, or as little, guidance as I needed. My experience with the DistanceLearningCentre.com has not only allowed me to gain a place on the extremely competitive Child Nursing Degree at Cardiff University, but has improved my self confidence and made me realise just how much I can achieve when I put my mind to something.

The support I received from my tutors was beyond my expectations and I will always be grateful for the push they gave me to accomplish my dream. Their patience and encouragement, as well as that of my friends and family, was key to completing my course and I would recommend it to anyone looking to further their education.

This course is by no means easy, but it gave me the opportunity to study at my own pace and develop my time management skills along the way.

The best advice I could give to future students would be to stick to a study plan, always ask your tutor for help if you need it, and never give up even when the going gets tough.

Learning something new every assessment, gaining skills in self motivation and independence - Marvin Beckett

Before enrolling with DistanceLearningCentre.com, I was just working full time as a security officer. After a few years I managed to get some stability with my job and outside life. At this point I realised I wanted to do more, actually doing something I perceived to be worthwhile, I wanted to go to University.

Unfortunately in high school/sixth form, I did not have the same regard to education that I do now, I wasn't bothered, I'd sooner be playing endless hours of xbox, then actually learn something. A massive mistake, as I ended up with few options and few qualifications to go to University.

So enrolling to do a Access to Higher Education Science Diploma with DistanceLearningCentre.com is one of the best things I have ever done, studying whilst still working, allowing me to support myself financially whilst gaining a qualification; resulting in me achieving options for 2015/16 University entry, which I never had before, as well as learning something new every assessment, gaining skills in self motivation and independence, which you do NEED, don't get me wrong, the tutors are absolutely fabulous, but it is all down to you to do the work in the end.

DistanceLearningCentre.com is not only a very friendly, extremely helpful and a all round brilliant way to study, it is a gateway to the opportunity of higher education. With me, I just didn't appreciate or realise that education is so precious and beneficial until I was out of school and out of prospects, which to me, makes the option of studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com positively invaluable and I would fully recommend anyone to enrol with them.
