More Distinctions than I thought I was capable of - Ellen Rooney

Before the course I was working with an agency waitressing at events all over the UK, whilst I decided what job I wanted to do. I decided nursing was the career for me and began studying an Access to Nursing course with DistanceLearningCentre.com in February 2014. I found studying hard and challenging whilst working full time but I managed to complete in 8 months, with more Distinctions than I thought I was capable of. Studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com is excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful. I would defiantly recommend them to other people. The course has been worthwhile as so far I have been offered interviews with two of my chosen universities, and will hopefully gain a place for adult nursing in September 2015. (Nov 14)

Coming across DistanceLearningCentre.com through a friend of mine has made my dream of going in to the University to study mental health nursing a reality. Before discovering DistanceLearningCentre.com, other colleges I contacted about studying an Access Course led me to understand that I cannot work while studying. It was difficult for as I have responsibilities of both personal and family obligations to meet.

I was at peace studying at DistanceLearningCentre.com as I still had to keep my jobs and other personal activities. The tutors and staff I had the opportunity to relate to during this period were very responsive in helping me to find solutions to every bugging question that worried me. It was not easy trying to complete this course, there were difficult times when I felt like throwing in the towel, but I was energized again by the tutors encouraging me to push ahead in order to get through.

I'm so thankful that I was able to persevere and am now looking forward to gaining admission to University to further my dream career. I have already recommended DistanceLearningCentre.com to some of my friends who want to build up a career in different areas. Thank you very much! (Nov 14)

It was the best decision I have ever made - Kira Hooper

In 2013 while pregnant with my son, I decided to get my career on track as I had always wanted to become a nurse, but didn't think I had the right qualifications until I came across DistanceLearningCentre.com which offered exactly what I needed. I also needed something to occupy me while on maternity leave due to having complications in my pregnancy I ended up housebound with nothing to occupy me. So, while looking after my 7 year old, keeping the family home going and juggling the complications in my pregnancy, I decided to start the course. It was the best decision I have ever made and since October 2013 I have been carrying on studying while having a new born baby and a 7 year old, as well as planning a wedding. So lots of challenges but I am most definitely proud of where I am now.

When I was first sent the information and course materials I was dubious, to say the least, because I hadn't studied properly in about 10 years, but once I started I challenged myself and achieved a lot higher grades than I ever thought I could. This wouldn't have been possible if I didn't have the fantastic support from my tutors and through looking through the forum.

Now I am applying to university to begin a dual nursing degree in 2015. So if you feel you want a career change or to start a career and you don't think you have what it takes, please don't feel that way, as DistanceLearningCentre.com has helped me so they can help you. (Nov 14)

I still wanted to work full time and earn money - Joanna Harper

I work for the NHS as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, once I was in this role I realised that I wanted to become a fully qualified Occupational Therapist, to do this I have to go to university. I didn't complete my A levels, as being young and naive I wanted to work full time and earn money. I found DistanceLearningCentre.com and after discussing with the university I wanted to apply to, I was told that the course would be acceptable, so I enrolled to do the Access to Health Professions.

I didn't realise how tough the course would be, but it is well worth it, every unit I completed I felt was an accomplishment. At the beginning of the year I experienced a personal loss, at one point I didn't think that I would be able to complete the course, but with the help of my tutors I made it. I can't thank them enough. There have been lots of tears and times my laptop nearly went through the window, but I am now applying to my chosen university and hope to become a full time mature student in 2015. (Nov 14)

Having this qualification has given me an edge - Vivian Nwagboso

When I applied to the university and I was told I needed an access course including my GSCE. I was sort of lost because I didn't know where or how to start. I contacted the university to see if they knew where I could get a place. I told them I wanted distance learning as I would feel out of place with very young students and they gave me a link. I went to the link and I wasn't really impressed so I did a random search using Google and I found DistanceLearningCentre.com!

I just followed the instructions on the page and registered, it was quite easy to do that and I got contacted almost immediately and the rest is history. The university course I want to study only has September session and I am so happy my year didn't go by without getting this qualification. Having this Level 3 qualification has given me an edge above GSCE holders when it comes to wages.

For anyone who wishes to enrol with DistanceLearningCentre.com, my candid advice to you is that you have to be prepared. Registration was easy but, believe me, after that you have to be determined and make up your mind that no matter what, you are willing to go through this. To all my tutors from first to last, I say a very big massive thank you. I feel like my life is moving again! (Nov 14)
