"Positive feedback from the other students is what made me decide to study with DistanceLearningCentre.com"
I am so thankful as they have truly helped me to change my life - Sophie Reading
I started my access course in May 2013 at the age of 30 having wanted to study nursing since my early twenties. Dong the course via distance learning was challenging alongside full time work but was the only way I could fit it in as I couldn't drop my hours to fit around a regular college course.
In January 2014 my application to university was rejected straightaway with no offer of interview and I decided to finish studying and give up altogether. I couldn't stop thinking about pursuing my dream of nursing and restarted my course in October 2014 and have achieved my 24 distinctions needed to take my place at Coventry to study adult nursing in February 2016.
I couldn't have done it without the help and support of my tutors I am so thankful as they have truly helped me to change my life. (Jun 15)
Always plenty of good advice and people to help motivate you on the forum - Jeannine Hochet
Coming from the small island of Jersey with one College of Further Education which offers a small number of degree course, I found DistanceLearningCentre.com to be an easily accessible way of gaining the qualifications I needed in order to enter Higher Education. I already have a Social Science degree, but as I graduated 10 years ago, I needed to show evidence of more recent study. DistanceLearningCentre.com was recommended to me by a university admissions tutor.
Studying remotely can be difficult, and there were times when I felt like giving up but I knew I had already worked hard and gained pretty good results, so I knew I would be letting myself down if I gave up. There is always plenty of good advice and people to help motivate you on the forum so you are never alone.
Now I have completed my Access course and I'm so proud of my achievement. I applied for a Nursing degree and was offered an interview at the University of Brighton. I have since been offered a place to begin in February 2016, and have accepted a place. Thank you to my tutors and DistanceLearningCentre.com! (Jun 15)
The tutors were brilliant, patient and understanding - Kim Townsend
After being told back in college I could never study to be a qualified Physiotherapist, due to failing some A Levels, I was thankful to find DistanceLearningCentre.com and a course perfect to gain me the qualifications I needed for University. I am currently working as a Senior Physiotherapy Assistant and now my dream of becoming a qualified Physiotherapist is now possible!
It was a hard slog, due to personal issues I also had along the way so the course took me two years rather than one, but I am so proud that I did not give up or withdraw from the programme. The tutors at DistanceLearningCentre.com were brilliant, patient and understanding and all very knowledgeable on their subject area. The materials supplied and the student forum is brilliant help throughout this course, but again any issues you have tutors are more than happy to help. This course built my confidence as an individual and also prepared me for the 'study life' again, ready for University.
This course is excellent if you still need to work full time and also, if you have a family to run (I have a 3 year old!). I would highly recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com but be aware it does take a lot of self-discipline and organisation to get the work done (though your tutor is always at the end of an email or a phone call if you become stuck).
If you are thinking of signing up for a course with DistanceLearningCentre.com then do so! You will not regret it and all the hard work will be worth it in the end. Thank you DistanceLearningCentre.com and all my tutors that helped me along the way. I am now due to start BSC in Physiotherapy in September 2015. (Jun 15)
Good luck to everyone still doing their course and those just starting, I hope you get your dream careers too - Becky Tetsell
Before joining DistanceLearningCentre.com, I had worked through different positions of care with the elderly, children, and hospital environment. I have wanted to be a nurse for years, but never achieved the grades from school to consider a degree. I also never thought I had the potential to get into university, let alone be offered a place at one to study Adult Nursing, but I have and this is all thanks to this amazing course.
The support I have had from the tutors has been amazing (even with my emails of panic). I have been able to study at my own pace and this has been very important as I have two children which I have needed to work around.
I would really like to thank DistanceLearningCentre.com for giving me the opportunity to improve myself and finally get my dream to study Adult Nursing in September, 2015 at Coventry University. Anyone considering the option to do the online course rather than college, my advice is you should definitely go for the online choice, I did and it is the best decision I have made.
I'd like to say good luck to everyone still doing their course and those just starting, I hope you get your dream careers too. (Jun 15)
Positive feedback from the other students is what made me decide to study with DistanceLearningCentre.com - Nikki Bond
After having my children I decided that I wanted to become a midwife, only the grades I had from school just wasn't good enough for me to apply for university. I researched to find out how I could study to become one, the positive feedback from the other students is what made me decide to study with DistanceLearningCentre.com.
With DistanceLearningCentre.com, I was able to retake my GCSE's alongside the access to midwifery diploma. I was able to pay monthly which meant I didn't have to find the funds upfront and I could work it around my family commitments. Independent learning worked for me as I was able to study when it suited me, I had my tutors on hand if I needed them and could complete it from home anytime of the day.
Through each step I have had amazing support and have worked so hard, I have had such an amazing experience, all my tutors have been fantastic! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking to further their education. (Jun 15)
