My experience of DistanceLearningCentre.com has been very rewarding, not only gaining a relevant qualification that has enabled me to gain a place at university to study Mental Health Nursing but also I feel I have grown in confidence academically and broaden my knowledge.
I studied Access to Nursing and enjoyed each module. At the beginning I was nervous and wasn't sure what to expect but once I got into the course and received feedback from my tutor I felt at ease. I feel that being able to pick certain modules was really beneficial and enabled me to pick bespoke modules that I required for mental health nursing.
Distance learning was the perfect set up for me as I worked full time and I was able to do flexible course work but also having a deadline to work towards.
June 2014 (Fab 5 Award Nominee) - Thomas Burns
After realising that I wanted to begin a career as a paramedic, an Access course was certainly the best way for me to get into a university offering paramedic science given that I had no A levels in science. DistanceLearningCentre.com provided me with a great way to achieve this. I was able to study for my Access course whilst working full time for the NHS.
While this was a challenge, I have now successfully completed my course and will begin my paramedic course in September 2014. The Access course not only enabled me to get into university, it was also clear that the content had been tailored in order to prepare me for when I start to study paramedic practice at higher education.
I now feel that I have a good base to build upon in biology and psychology - all relevant to the work the paramedics do. For anyone who wants to get into higher education but lacks the qualifications - I can't recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com enough.
June 2014 (Fab 5 Award Nominee) - Jeorgie Smethurst
I have particularly enjoyed studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com because it has enabled me to learn at a pace that I am comfortable with and which I can fit in around my job.
I have also rediscovered a passion for English literature which I had forgotten since leaving school. This has lead me to receive offers from the University of Leeds and Lancaster University to study English Literature BA (Hons), which I will start in September.
In my opinion studying with DistanceLearningCentre.com gives students the skills to study independently, which is an extremely important skill to possess, when undertaking furthering education. In addition to encouraging self-reliance in studying, the support has been second to none. In particular the style of positive and constructive feedback given which, I think, helped me to continually improve my work.
I cannot thank DistanceLearningCentre.com enough for enabling me to return to education with the confidence that I will succeed.

Having had a career in the Royal Air Force and the Civil Service, becoming a midwife seemed like a farfetched dream but when I found DistanceLearningCentre.com I realised I could start my journey from home while bringing up my two young children and also working.
It took me less than a year to finish the course and that included time off for moving country! I can honestly say that my tutors were fantastic, not only knowledgeable and supportive but always full of encouragement.
I have now gained a place at university to study midwifery, dreams do come true (much quicker than expected!) and DistanceLearningCentre.com made it happen for me. Thank you to my amazing tutors ? I couldn't have done it without you!

As a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor I worked with many people, helping them overcome obstacles to reach their goals. Alongside my personal home-study into rehabilitation and biomechanics I began to work closely with physiotherapists to help restore movement and function to those affected by musculoskeletal issues. After deciding that I wanted to enter the physiotherapy profession I applied for universities and received conditional offers.
Giving up work and enrolling at college was not an option for me, so studying my Access to Physiotherapy diploma with DistanceLearningCentre.com was a fantastic opportunity. I was able to enrol straight away with the plan to complete the course for my chosen year of study at higher education and I could structure the study hours around my work hours. The support from the tutors was fantastic throughout the course, especially when helping me to select certain units to cater for the conditional offers I had received and setting target completion dates. I would recommend DistanceLearningCentre.com to anyone wishing to further their careers and I wish to thank all the staff for their help. I look forward to starting my degree course this September.
