Tutor Support

You will be allocated a personal tutor who will support you throughout your studies.

Your tutor will provide help and advice, assess your work, and provide regular feedback on your progress.

Telephone contact is set at around 10 minutes per week. However, you can also choose to save up the time until you have a problem. If you contact your tutor by email, you can expect a response within 24-48 hours.

Course materials are available either via the Web Site or on a CDROM.

Studying with the DLC

The Distance Learning Centre was set up in 1993 by a group of qualified teachers and Lecturers. We felt that the many people who would like to study, but were unable to attend regular classes, would benefit from the opportunity of studying at home.

Man Studying

Studying with the Distance Learning Centre means that you can work at home but still have a direct link to your own personal tutor through the Internet, by telephone or by post. It does not matter where you live, you can still achieve a nationally validated qualification, or complete a training course, which will help you qualify for, or progress within your chosen career.

Many people who have been out of education for some considerable time feel uncomfortable with a set class as they often believe they could not contribute fully in a traditional classroom situation. The Distance Learning Centre helps to eliminate these problems. The courses are run on a flexible basis so that you decide when you are going to study, when to start a course, and even how long the course takes.

Woman Studying

We are very proud of our record of helping many people to realise their potential who may not have normally had such an opportunity due to: family or work commitments, social or cultural circumstances, geographical location, disability or simply a lack of confidence.

Over the years, Distance Learning Centre staff have worked with a large number of Colleges, training providers, larger businesses and international consortiums, using various online learning systems. We have found that the success of our flexible, yet simple and supportive approach, which was adopted right from day one, coupled with our one-to-one telephone contact, has never been matched.
