How to Apply
Request more details
To apply or enquire, simply complete our Online Enquiry Form. If there is some reason that you are unable to complete the form, please or if you need to send us something by post, contact us at:
Distance Learning Centre, The Beeches, Todmorden Road, Bacup, Lancashire, OL13 9DU.
Following your enquiry, we will email you a Course Handbook with full details of your selected course, an Enrolment Form and a Fees and Payments Guidance Form. If you cannot open the Enrolment Form (MS Word .doc), try this RTF version.
You can also download all these documents using the links above, although we prefer that you fill out the Enquiry Form as we like to contact you to answer any questions you may have. Starting a course is a significant commitment on your part and we want to ensure that it is exactly right for you, personally.
We do not send out Enrolment Forms or Handbooks by post. You can download them from this page or request we send them by email.
All the details you need about our courses are on this web site. You can submit a request for us to phone you using our Enquiry Form. Please only phone us direct if you are unable to submit the Form or send an email. Telephone: 0845 302 8270.
Setting your timescale
Trying to complete your studies in less than 9-12 months requires a huge amount of work on your part. Start as early as you can and agree realistic goals with your tutor. It is better to finish early rather than find you cannot complete in time.
Registering with myDLC
If you decide that you wish to Enrol on the Course you then need to Register with us Online, where you can also upload your completed Enrolment Form, Photo ID and Proof of Address, for checking by the Student Services Manager.
Certification / Moderation Dates
DLC provides two Moderation dates per year. These are when students completing the course have their work Externally Moderated and this leads to the issue of Certificates.
These match with the Higher Education / University intakes in September (June Moderation) and, in the case of a few, there is a January/February intake (November Moderation).
This does not mean that you cannot complete your course between these dates, you can complete whenever you finish all your coursework, but you will not receive your Certificate until the next Moderation date.
