TAQ 1 Writing for Meaning

Postby Amyh » Sun Jun 29, 2014 9:11 am

Hi all

I've just started my access course and my first assignment is the essay on Child Poverty in writing for meaning. I've worked my way through the guidance notes and have got to the point where I'm ready to start writing but am totally stuck. It's 10 years since I was at school and I just can't seem to get going. I know once I do I'll be fine. Has anyone else had this problem and got any tips?

Thank you!

Do things like mind maps and drafts. Essays don't magically appear and can take a few days to get points down. Look on google at how essays are formatted. Realistically a beginning where your explaining, a middle where the meat of the subject is and an end where you summarise it all. Don't forget to in text reference and do your ref/bib lists.
