Entering GCSE Equivalences onto UCAS...Help!!

Postby clare87 » Sat Nov 24, 2012 7:15 pm

Hi,

I really need some help if anyone has experienced this problem.....

I am trying to add my qualifications onto my UCAS form. Along with my access course I am also doing English, Maths and Science GCSE equivalence.

When I come to add the GCSE equivalences there is no option for this, only GCSE only and other forms of GCSE e.g., vocational etc. I don’t know how to go about adding them and really wanted to do it over the weekend.

I have emailed my tutor but she won't receive the email until Monday morning.

Can anyone help/advise me.........please??? :/

What you do is add another OCN course on top of your diploma and then write in GCSE equivalence in what ever you are doing.

Hope that this helps

Thank you for the info Karen :)

I spoke to my tutor who advised me to enter my GCSE equivalences the same way which you did.

As I have covered a few modules of the Maths and English GCSE equivalents in the level 2 work and passed it, how would I go about entering this?

Could I for E.G. enter English GSCSE Equivalence and then enter the modules (as below) so they can see what the GCSE's consist of and what I have already passed?

E.G:
GCSE Equivalence:
Improving punctuation and Grammar Skills - Passed (3 credits)
Developing Reading Strategies - Pending (3 credits)
Using Writing for Meaning - Passed (3 credits)
Speaking and Listening Skills - Pending (3 credits)

When I spoke to the Unis about my GCSE equivalences they said there needed to be certain modules within theses to enable me with a chance of getting a place.
I therefore feel I should display these modules on my UCAS form if it's possible?

I am also applying as an independent student and am unsure of what to put down as the centre number?

If you could give me some advice Karen I would really appreciate it.

Many Thanks,

Clare

Hi Clare,

There is no number for DLC as we do not get funding from the government, however everything else looks good to me.
