Writing report in the third person

Postby Daisymoocow » Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:39 pm

I am having a complete blank here...
How on earth do i write my report in the third person? Its the TAQ1 about comparing Universities. I am writing up how i did my research and the questions i asked etc... but i cant write, i did this and I said this etc, as that isnt in the third person? For example, I have written: In order to choose a suitable University, I first had to find out which places offered the course I wanted to do. I used the UCAS website to search for all institutions offering the relevant degree... blah blah
How would i write this in the third person? aaarrrggghh

To write in the third person you would put

In order to choose a suitable University, firstly you need to find out which places offered the required course. In order to do this use the UCAS website to search for all institutions offering the relevant degree

Can't quite remember the assessment but does it say write an accademic report or just a report as an academic report is in the third person where as a personal report can be just I did this etc.

Hope that this helps

Then as you can see if it asks you about your self then it should be written in the first person, if it does not say this as in an experiment then you should always write in the third.

Best wishes
