TAQ 3 chemoreceptors, medulla oblongata, respiration rate

Postby jodipodi83 » Sat Jan 18, 2014 8:19 pm

Hi, hope someone is on as I need this whole module done by monday...
When we look at TAQ 3 about rate of breathing, do we need to go into so much detail as to put in about DRG and VRG (i hope not given the word count) or are we basically explaining about chemoreceptors, stretch receptors and how they signal the medulla oblongata then consequently the muscles involved in breathing?

Well,l I would be discussing the medulla and pons, or the control systems in there as well as what they detect and the different systems. The VRG and DRG are a little beyond the scope of level 3 but the rest sounds on the right path

I hope this helps

Thanks Robin. Theres so much information that you gather along the way that its easy to get lost because each little thing leads to another sequence or system....hopefully Ive hit the criteria :)
