Quick exam help please!

Postby fchris17 » Fri Dec 11, 2015 11:24 am

Hi,

I have an exam in 2 hours but can't get hold o my tutor. i think she hasn't given me the password for some of the learning material.

I'm currently on the Substantive topic and was given 2 passwords for the Atypical theme and the development them. These mentioned reliability, validity and research methods but I've just read in the study materials that there is another topic called 'research methods' that I should have based my revision on, so far i've been revising info solely from the internet

I looked on the site and this topic is under a different module (Planning and carrying out a research project).

Should I have been given a password for this topic too???

ok, i think that i have had big problems here. what should I do?

Firstly, in November I was given the wrong topic to study and this wasn't noticed until I wanted to book my exam date (after spending 3 weeks completing the SAQ's and half of the TAQ's). I then had to start all over again on the topic that I was supposed to do.

I completed that module and started to prepare for the exam. The module did mention reliability and validity a bit, along with case study's so I revised that and supplemented this with info from the internet.

But I noticed before the exam today that the exam materials specifically say "you should base you revision around 'Topic 1 - Research Methods'. But i wasn't given the password for this. I contacted my psychology tutor immediately and asked if I needed this and she said no!

"The other materials you are looking at are used for the next unit, but you don't need to have revised them for the exam"

After completing the exam she gave me the password for this file along with the the module 'Planning and carrying out a research study'. I've just open that file and it contains EVERYTHING that I needed for the exam. If she had given me this file before the exam than it would make perfect sense.

I wasn't at all prepared for this exam enough to get it graded which is extremely frustrating as I have had distinctions in everything so far. I think that i may have passed I feel that I have been robbed of a high grade.

If we are told something and we can look into there is usually something we can do about it, we just need to know.
