Academic Writing

Postby Tempsh » Tue Dec 22, 2015 12:58 am

Please can anyone help me. I am working through the learning material for academic writing skills - The Ethics of mental Health care treatments. I feel I need to get really clued up with the ethical theories as it's going over my head slightly.

Has anyone got any good links or can recommend some books?

Thanks very much

Sharon

Hi Sharon.

I literally just used the information within the reading material with a small amount of research myself.

The easiest thing to do is only choose two ethical theories and then utilise those theories within a case study (I used the one provided in the reading material) saying how the theories can be applied to the scenario. Does it make restraint ok? What are the advantages and disadvantages to each theory?

You can use the two theories provided within the reading material if you like.

I chose to do normative ethics which is used in nursing a lot as they base their principles on it.

Here are a few links which I hope helps. Look at the references that the journal use and see if you can then find further resources that way to support your work.

The easiest thing to do is to try and keep it simple.

I hope this helps.

Good luck and let me know if you need any further help. :)
