Promotion & Marketing

The Promotion and Marketing Department is responsible for promoting and advertising our courses and our Company. It is also responsible for managing our presence on social media, branding, web design and web development.

The department managed by Mich?le Jones, assisted by various other staff from across the organisation, who take on different roles.

Michèle Jones - Marketing Manager

Michèle has a Joint Honours Degree in Applied Science (Computing & Geology) and a Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification. Initially starting her career in 1995 as a Product Manager, for an Education equipment supply company, she has since worked in Marketing Management roles for a number of manufacturing, retail and service provider companies.

Andrew Whitehead - Executive Director (Business)

Andrew has an Honours Degree in Zoology and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), taught and managed courses in Further and Higher Education across a wide range of subjects including: Science, Health, Conservation & Environmental Studies, Information Technology and Animal Management. Andrew has been a Director of DLC since 2001 and has extensive experience of Business Management, previously running a Web Design Company and working as a Senior Manager in a Local Authority Environmental Management Department.

Karen Hayday - Executive Director (Curriculum)

Karen has a degree in Psychology and Sociology, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). She has been a researcher at a University and has taught and managed courses in Further and Higher Education for 25 years. Karen has been an external examiner for the Royal College of Nursing and is also a qualified Occupational Tester. Karen founded distancelearningcentre.com (DLC) in 1993.

Rhia Hayday - Curriculum Development Manager, Curriculum Leader (English) & Tutor

Rhia has an MA (Hons) in English Literature and Religious Studies and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). She has a particular interest in the changing face of British society, gender and ethics. Rhia has experience in designing learning materials for the DLC, international and British educational projects, and has worked in academic publishing.
