Promotion & Marketing
The Promotion and Marketing Department is responsible for promoting and advertising our courses and our Company. It is also responsible for managing our presence on social media, branding, web design and web development.
The department managed by Andrew Whitehead, assisted by various other staff from across the organisation, who take on different roles.
- Andrew Whitehead manages the advertising and PR for the company and also manages the web design and development.
- Karen Hayday, Rhia Hayday, Morgan Highton and Rebecca Smith are all involved with our Social Media prescence.
Andrew Whitehead - Executive Director (Business)
Andrew has an Honours Degree in Zoology and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), taught and managed courses in Further and Higher Education across a wide range of subjects including: Science, Health, Conservation & Environmental Studies, Information Technology and Animal Management. Andrew has been a Director of DLC since 2001 and has extensive experience of Business Management, previously running a Web Design Company and working as a Senior Manager in a Local Authority Environmental Management Department.
Karen Hayday - Executive Director (Curriculum)
Karen has a degree in Psychology and Sociology, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). She has been a researcher at a University and has taught and managed courses in Further and Higher Education for 25 years. Karen has been an external examiner for the Royal College of Nursing and is also a qualified Occupational Tester. Karen founded distancelearningcentre.com (as The Distance Learning Centre) in 1993.
Rhia Hayday - Curriculum Development Manager
Rhia has an MA (Hons) in English Literature and Religious Studies and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). She has a particular interest in the changing face of British society, gender and ethics. Rhia has experience in designing learning materials for the DLC, international and British educational projects, and has worked in academic publishing.
Morgan Highton - Curriculum Development Assistant
Morgan has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. She has experience in business social media and client interaction and is an active member of the Facebook Admin team for DistanceLearningCentre.com's Group and Page. She is also involved in the editing and development of the learning materials. Morgan has previously worked in community development and voluntary roles for her local area.
Rebecca Smith - Curriculum Development Manager & Tutor
Rebecca has a BSc (Combined Hons) in Psychology and Biology. She has taught Psychology and Biology A Level and GCSE at a large secondary school where she was the Psychology curriculum leader for over 15 years. Rebecca has been an examiner for OCR Psychology and AQA Biology.
