The Exams Office provides information about Examining and Awarding Bodies which accredit our courses and relevant quality assurance agencies. It also provides information about forthcoming Moderation/Certification Dates.


NOVEMBER MODERATION 2010

  1. Exemptions or Accreditation for prior learning (APL) - any student who has claimed exemption from part of the course due to achieving previous qualifications (such as allowed GSCEs), must have submitted evidence of these prior to being put forward for Moderation such that the tutor can sign to verify they have seen it. Note that you may also be required to produce these Certificates when you enrol on your Higher Education Course. You can see how exemptions are shown on an Access Certificate here - Page 1, Page 2.

  2. 24th September - all students wishing to be put forward for November moderation must return their Learner Details Form (LDF) and Course Evaluation Form to the and copy them in to their tutor.

  3. 24th September - deadline for payment of the Certification Fee of £105 and Moderation Fee of £50, total £155.

  4. Late submission of the LDF or failure to pay the fee by this deadline will result in an additional £20 late fee.

  5. 22nd October - deadline for final submission of assessments. You are advised to submit your work well in advance of this date as there will be insufficient time remaining for re-marking should your work not be up to standard.

  6. 10th November - final date by which your exam must be completed. By this date tutors will also have marked all your work.

  7. January 2011 - Certificates will be sent to DLC by the Awarding Body (OCNNWR) some time in January, and these will be posted to each student via Recorded Delivery.
