WHAT IS MODERATION? - It is the process by which you obtain your Certificate on successful completion of the Course. It normally takes place twice a year, once in June (for entry into Higher Education in September) and November (for entry in January/February). During the moderation process, your work is Internally Verified (by a different DLC tutor than taught you for any given Module) and a sample of students' work is also Externally Moderated (by an External Moderator from OCNNWR). Assuming this process is all completed satisfactorily, Certificates are issued soon after. Please note that the grades awarded by your tutor before this process are provisional, subject to succesful Moderation.
For up-to-date information on forthcoming Moderations and deadlines for entry, visit the Exams Office.
