About the DLC
The Distance Learning Centre (DLC) has been providing Access to Higher Education Courses since 1993, which makes it one of the longest-established organisations of its kind. This level of experience gives the DLC a strong reputation for professionalism, reliability and quality.

All DLC tutors are fully qualified professional teachers or trainers, with the DLC maintaining a consistent record for quality with excellent Moderation Reports from the Awarding Body (Open College North West Region) and recently being held up as an example of Best Practice at the QAA (Quality Assurance Agency) conference celebrating 20 years of Access to Higher Education.

One of the main reasons that the DLC is so successful is due to its uniquely individual, friendly and supportive service. Tutors contact students weekly by telephone and respond to emails within 24-48 hours (although 90% of the time in less than 24 hours). This means that a relationship is built up between student and tutor, which encourages them to succeed and includes pastoral support and an awareness and accommodation of individual commitments and circumstances. Learning Materials and Assessments are of high quality and provided in easily accessible formats which can be viewed online or printed.
At the time of writing, the DLC remains the only organisation providing Access Diplomas entirely by distance learning which means that, if students can access a computer and, if possible, a telephone, they can study from anywhere in the world (although a UK residence address must be proved to study an accredited Access Diploma).
Unlike traditional Further Education Colleges, the DLC receives no Government funding, but is still able to provide Access Diplomas at extremely competitive rates.
The Distance Learning Centre was incorporated as DLCentre Limited in 2002 and is therefore a Private Limited Company, Company Registration Number 4918981. It is also VAT registered (VAT Reg. No.) 978 4279 55
